B-G grinds out football win over Seton CC Press & Sun Bulletin Staff Reports

Daren Terpstra headed a balanced running attack as Bainbridge-Guilford defeated visiting Seton Catholic Central, 28-19, Friday night in a Section 4 Football Conference Division VII game.

Terpstra finished with 89 yards rushing and three others ran for at least 71 yards.

"We were able to take care of our home field," B-G coach Tim Mattingly said. "I think Seton needed this win. It's a huge divisional game to take another step to the playoffs."

Quarterback James Hranek, out since the third week with a fractured leg, returned for the Saints (4-2, 2-2). He completed a 44-yard pass to Andrew Tripicco on the game's first play. Three plays later, Hranek hit running back Adrian Davis for an 11-yard touchdown. With the PAT, the Saints had a 7-0 lead less than a minute into the game.

B-G (5-1, 5-0) took the lead with about three minutes left in the first quarter.

Todd Terpstra's 1-yard run and quarterback Justin Pepper's conversion run put B-G ahead, 8-7.

Pepper also ran for a touchdown and passed for another.

The Bobcats extended their lead to 14-7 before halftime on Billy Holden's 1-yard run. Holden had 73 rushing yards.

Seton's Jesse Wood, who had two rushing touchdowns and a game-high 119 yards, scored his first just a few plays into the second half after B-G fumbled the opening kickoff on its 4-yard line. That cut the lead to 14-13.
