Sunday, September 30 JV Toughed it out Against Walton In a very physical game where at the end of one play two Saints were down with injuries, The Saints didn't give up. After a 30-0 first half with Walton ahead, the Saints held Walton scoreless in the third quarter. In the fourth, the Saints came back with three scores of their own, but it wasn't enough. Saturday, October 13 Tragedy Hits Trumansburg, Cancels JV Game A Trumansburg Girl's soccer player collapsed during a soccer game and died Friday night prompting a cancellation of the Trumansburg sports on Saturday. David Rebello was named to the Second Team New York State All- Star Squad. This award is bestowed upon a select number of athletes throughout New York State. Last season's success was in large part due to our off season weight program. Starting Thursday, January 3rd, the weight room will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 until about 6:00. Saturday morning workouts will begin on January 5th at 9:00 A.M. sharp. Attendance will be tracked and posted for your convience. Your participation in this program will determine the success (or failure)of SCC football. Be a leader, don't be the weakest link. See you there! If you know of any student athletes that should be playing football, please give one of the coaches their name(s) so we can try to recruit them into our program. Coach Wags Saints Moving To Class "B" The 2002 SCC Saints football team will face a lot of new teams this season as the move from Class C to Class B. The Saints will compete in Division IV of the Southern Tier Athletic Conference. Coming off of an impressive 6-3 season in Division V, the Saints new division will include: Chenango Forks, BGA, END (Elmira Notre Dame), Waverly and Dryden. A full schedule for the 2002 season will be available in a couple of weeks. |
