Saddle Brook Little League: 2013 Spring Baseball Divisions
The Major's division consists of players selected in a draft.
This is the most competitive division and players will be displaying all of the skills that they have acquired from all of the other divisions.
Minors
The Minors is an instructional league that can be made up of children nine to twelve years of age.
Eleven year old players that are not selected by a Majors team, will play that season in the Minors.
The same applies to twelve year old players, who's parents have signed them down (to the Minors). Twelve year old's are not allowed to pitch in the Minors.
However, a ten year old player can be selected and placed in a Majors team by a manager.
Instructional 8
The Instructional 8 division is where players are introduced to the more advanced fundamentals of the game and experience pitching, from other than a coach, for the first time.
Instructional 6- 7
This division introduces our players to pitching.
The team's manager does the pitching!
T-Ball 4-5
The T-Ball 5 division consists of four and five year old children. Our objective in this division is to introduce the game and teach basic skills.
Challenger
The Challenger Division was created to give our children with disabilities an opportunity to play baseball in a more structured environment. The games are non-competitive, and focus on sportsmanship, socialization and fun. Parents may remain on the field and assist in the instructional development of the players.
The Saddle Brook Challenger Division is the nucleus of the District 5 program. We are very fortunate to have our very own Lou Verile organize it!
Lou Verile is a former Saddle Brook Little League president and a NJ State Representative for the Challenger Program, who has dedicated all of his time, passion and love for 25 years.
