Mackey ~ Man of the Match ~ Oct. 4th

In the first 15 minutes we started off slow but got back on our feet and really started to play. we were talking well also passing well which resulted with our first goal by Phillps. in the second half we steped our game up even more which got us two more goals. the end score 3-0.

My man of the match was Nashy. He stepped up and played smart and physical which made Turner, Linkey and my job easier.

WILL~ MAN OF THE MATCH ~ ARSENAL VS. LIGHTNING

Will

Date:  Sunday, September 21, 2008Opponent:  Carlsbad Lightning

I think the game start out very evenly matched. The both teams did a great job moving the ball around the field. Turner had many great saves throughout the game. At half-time it was still zero to zero. Early in the second half Lightning scored. Our team kept our heads in the game though. Towards the end of the second half we scored to tie the game. Overall, it was a pretty good game. I am happy to be apart of the team and look forward to our next match

Foster ~ Man of the Match ~ Arsenal vs. NSDFC

On Saturday, September 13, we played NSDFC at their home field in
Vista. Our warmup went good, which I think carried into the game.
Coach Pete had to make some last minute changes to the lineup but I
thought we handled it well. We had two new players, Brandon and
Ricardo, who I thought fit in with our style. We scored the first
goal of the match in the first 10 minutes off of some good passing
and communication. I was playing defense and I honestly don't know
who scored but I could see them working hard and the attack looked
confident. It was exciting to get the lead, especially after last
week's game where we were flat. Later in the first half they got a
corner kick. We were not quite ready for the corner kick and there
was a lot of confusion. We didn't have each player marked and this
lead to a slip up. Turner made a great effort but there was nothing
he could do and they went up on us 1-1.

We came out really charged up for the second half. They game went our
way right off the bat because of our aggressiveness. We scored three
more insurance goals and kind of took the life out of the other team.
Turner played great and kept our defense focused. He made an awesome
save on one of their only hard shots late in the match. They were
getting frustrated and started yelling at their coach, which showed
that we got into their heads. The referee gave us a couple of crazy
yellow cards, one because Linky couldn't see a much smaller player,
and I got one for attempting to keep a ball in play. I think someone
told me that Fletcher and our new player Ricardo scored twice. That
sums up the game. It was great to bring home a "W" and 3-points.
