Team Thriving on Pressure

The team is thriving on the pressure of chasing glory this season for the club in AAA.

The Gunners currently sit second in the Presido League and are among the favourites to challenge for the Premier spot.

The team is resurgent this season and new signings like Spike & Stieny are a integral  part  of the squad.

The 4-0 victory over Hawks on Saturday, lighted the expectation of the team but we must stay grounded in such a crucial part of the  season.

It's a massive season for a lot of players, but they are enjoying the pressure that comes with it.

Pressure keeps you on your toes and it inspires you.

It's the same in any profession, really.  If you want success you have to embrace pressure, not be burdened by it.

At the moment everyone is on a high.

The important thing, though, is that everyone keeps their feet firmly on the ground and doesn't get carried away with the initial success.

After all, we've won nothing yet and you are just one club, one country, competing to win just one trophy.

Tuesday, October 13

PG has put their change in fortune down to the club's summer trip to DANVILLE.

The team was promoted from the AA-A last season and endured a spring of uncertainty with doubts over the long-term future of the club in AAA.

The Boy's  have quietly gone about their job, leading the team to the top of the table after Friday nights game.

During a turbulent pre-season, which included a 5-1 defeat to FCSD & Sharks the team took a break in Danville to re-charge with a pre-season camp, and  I believe it was the turning point in their fortunes.

It does feel like a special atmosphere in the team at the moment I think the trip to Danville & working with Hulk  did us the world of good.

It really brought the team  closer together, we got some really good training in and we got our heads around the situation we were in and what we could do about it.

They  have bonded really well and  are a strong group.

Sept. 27th Game against Attack

Gunners eased their way to win number 5 of the season as Attack were consigned to  defeat.

Attack proved little threat and victory was a comfortable one. Two goals from Quinny put his side in control before Cam & Crew  completed the scoring.

Wednesday, September 23
Arsenal vs. Nomads, Sept. 19th

The team produced a stunning fightback against Nomands.

The visitors were one up just after the interval thanks to a stunning free-kick.

But goals from Jewels completes the fourth victory of the campaign.

The lads could have gone one of two ways in the second half. They could have hidden and gone under but they showed immense character to turn things around and pick up a great result.

The players  played a big part in getting us through the night.  Hopefully this can now be the turning point of our season, to push for a top 4 spot.

Sunday, September 13
Sept. 13 Game against Scripps United

The Boy's have  rallied over the past couple of weeks.

We showed a bit more courage this season and  worked very hard and we know we have beaten a  couple of good sides.

It's nice to get another win under our belts, especially  away from home.

It gives us a bit of breathing space and we can look forward with confidence instead of thinking we need a win in next weekend games.

Sunday, August 30
Aug. 29th Game vs. Attack & Aug. 30th Games vs. Aztecs

We are very pleased with the  progress after we beat Aztecs 2-1 to maintain our perfect start to the campaign.

Vossey was again on target to make it two wins out of two in the league so far.

It's good measure of how far the side have come both performance and mentality-wise, I think we have had a really good start, really positive from our point of view and we're getting clean sheets, if you do that then you've got a chance of winning games.

Good value

We were good value over the weekend for both results and special praise goes out to both Spike & Stieny for there "Man-of the-Match" Performances.
If we are  perfectly honest  we got through  this weekend  and it's a real positive performance and result for us and we will look to take this into the next game against Scripps.

Nott's Forest Cup Tournament

The team from last year has been  transformed with 6 new signings during the summer. We are looking to  install a  fear factor whenever teams face us.

Since  the Del Mar & PQ Tournament we have had a  surprise  turn around  and  we are looking to be a  force to be reckoned with in AAA.

If you told me before  we would win the first two  league  games. I would have been surprised.

Better defensively

We have made the changes that were necessary  to the team and  we  have  made them better defensively. And when we have needed the luck , we have generally got it.

We now have 3 crucial games in the next couple of weeks and will be looking to keep up the good work.
