Rookie Ball
Girls, Boys 5 and 6. Non competitive, coach pitch or tee ball. Soft baseballs. Everyone bats, every inning. Cheer for both teams, loads of fun, the best time you'll ever have watching youth sports. For kids, best two times of the day are 1) Refreshments and 2) When they get a chance to hit. Farm Baseball Transition period while children learn to pitch. Fielding, catching, hitting, coach off the field. 3 outs to an inning. Start to see players develop skills and enjoy using them. No standings or scores kept. Mostly boys but we have some girls occasionaly in this group! Minors Girls Scores kept, 3 outs to an inning, standings kept, pitchers more accurate, though still a very good time for a young player to join. Some of our best coaches with girls last year were at this level. All Star play begins at this level for girls and boys. Minors Baseball Standings kept, wins and losses, scores kept. Many coaches do stats for teams. Player pitch, hard ball used. Really start to see the boys begin to grasp concepts of the game, enjoy being good, and yet still enjoy the silliness of being 10 and romping around on an open field. Major Girls Major Boys Junior Boys Junior Girls More later when I have time. |
