How the Forfeit Fees work!
Intramural Participation is FREE IF you or your team play all the games in the sport for which you registered.
Here's how it works:
For individual and doubles sports, each entry (both partners count as ONE entry for doubles) pays $3.00 in the Rec Office, 241 Archbold by the posted sign-up deadline. If you complete your tournament (either win or are eliminated from competition by a PLAYING loss), you may go back to the Rec. office AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE TOURNAMENT and request a refund by filling out a form. A check is then mailed to you in about 2 weeks.
For Team Sports, the TEAM pays a $20.00 forfeit fee in the Rec. Office, 241 Archbold, by the posted deadline. If the team forfeits one contest, $10.00 is deducted from that. A second forfeit results in the loss of the other $10.00 and elimination from competition. All teams that have forfeit fee money remaining may go back to the Rec. Office to apply for a refund ONCE THAT SPORT HAS CONCLUDED COMPETITION. Again, a form is filled out and a check mailed within about 2 weeks.
At any time, forfeit fees may be applied to future sports in lieu of a refund (if your team plays many sports, this is MUCH easier on all of us!).
Any refundable fees not claimed by the appropriate individual by the last day of Spring Semester final exams are no longer eleigible to be collected.
Our hope is that we PROCESS A LOT OF REFUND CHECKS don't forfeit, and don't forget to come in to get your refund!!! Everyone hates forfeits!!!
