LEAGUE DEFEAT
In the game of the day,top of the table and undefeated St Johns travelled North to visit second place Vale of Atholl in the league. No sooner had the game begun and St Johns took an early in the first minute as good midfeild play resulted in aquick through ball to Andy Hutchison who coolly slotted home under the advancing keeper.Five minutes later the teams were level.A hopeful through balldown the left flank was misjudged by the St Johns keeper as it took a wicked ricochet off a Vale strikers back to fall at the feet of Ross Shepherd who with the keeper stranded out wide, confidently curled in the equalizer from 30 yards out.St Johns pressed again throughout the half and again in the second but spurned chances to regain the lead and were punished in the 70th minute when they were unable to clear their lines, the ball broke to Craig Baxter who looked up from 20 yardsout, took his time to lob the the stranded St Johns keeper and ensure 3 points for the home side .Indiscipline from St Johns players ended any hope of getting a result from what had been a good game
