Capstone Soccer Complex is owned by the St. Clairsville Area Soccer Association which is a non-profit corporation founded in 1997. It has been funded with private donations from individuals and businesses in the area. We also have several fund raisers which require our support through the year. We wish to honor those who have helped in any way with an honor recognition plaque in the future
Directions to ComplexThe complex is located on Airport Highway (County road 82) two and one-fourth miles south of US Highway 40. If coming off the interstate, you would get off at exit 213 and follow the signs south. All soccer teams are playing at the Capstone complex. Pre-Travel
Pre-Travel for U-6 and U-8 will start on April 5th. All coaches for this age group should try to attend the Coaching Seminar that is being planned for Saturday September 10th. The rec center will attempt to call all parents at the home number listed after August 24th 25th . Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday starting September 8th. Play times will begin at 5:30 for the U-6 and 6:45 for the U-8/ The U-6 are born between August 1st 2004 and July 31, 2006. The U-8 players are born between August 1st 2002 and July 31, 2004. Occasionally we will ask a u-8 to move up an age group based on their skills and numbers at the next age level. It is not done at the parent’s request. Players must be age 4 by July 31 2007 to play in the Pre-Travel. Players should have a size 3 ball and shin guards. Soccer shoes are optional.
Coaching Registration and Seminar
We anticipate that a Coaches training program will be available on opening day for the Travel teams but do not have details at registration. Contact David Hahn dbhahn45@aol.com for more information. We will also review rules for coaches and parents. Coaches and Volunteers need to complete page 3 of registration for the registrar and league to get back with you.
Travel Teams and Coaches
Travel teams will be given a call by their coaches by the August 23rd. . Coaches are volunteers and serve at the pleasure and direction of the Association. Coaches, players and parents must abide by the rules set forth with the player packet. We will have a discussion with all coaches regarding field expectations. Uniforms will be given to the players and those must be returned to the coach who will turn in to Rick Ferrell’s AllState Office or make arrangements with Nora Holtsclaw. Parents as in other sports, at times we may disagree with referee’s but we are never to enter the field of play or approach them to discuss calls during the game or any other time. That is the role for the coach to do respectfully. Coaches are to refrain from yelling at the referees. We need help the week of August 15th to the 24th to set up and line fields.
The 4th Annual Pancake Breakfast is scheduled October 1st and a raffle will be completed during the month of November. Coaches will have tickets for sale beginning September 10th. Web Site http://www.eteamz.com/stcareasoccerassoc/
