Field Maintenance    We need at least  volunteers for next saturday the 17th of October to assist us in cleaning up the catch basins around the new fields.  We need to shore up some drainage areas around the parking areas along with cleaning out the catch basins.  Make sure you wear boots or heavy shoes you don't mind getting dirty and bring a  shovel.  Please give Rick Ferrell a call at 695-1995. 

 Fall Season into 6th week       Want to thank Gene Mozena and Doug Wolfe for stepping up to coordinate the U6 and U-8 age groups.  Thank you to all the coaches who volunteered to assist with this age group.

There is a practice area with small goals on the west side of the U-10 and U-12 fields . 

 Applebee's Pancake Breakfast is success.   If you have not turned in your ticket money, please turn in to Rick Ferrell or Dave Hahn so a final accounting can be made. 

 Great Coaches Training with 15 of our coaches attending and 6 from other regions..  We want to thank our trainer Sheri Huckleberry who has a great soccer resume and gave us a lot of ideas..  She is the State Technical trainer for  NSCAA.

  Capstone 4 v 4 2009  wrap up : 31 teams competed in 6 divisions of the Capstone 4 v 4 Soccer Tournament held at the Capstone Complex west of St. Clairsville on June 27 and 28. Teams represented were from Wheeling, St. Clairsville, Steubenville, Moundsville, Wellsburg, Belloit and East Liverpool.   The complete run down of winners , runner ups and speed kick winners  are listed  under the tournament handout section and pictures are included in the alblum section.  Hope you enjoy.pictures.  Thank Chuck George for finally getting them on the website.

We need volunteers to help complete the areas around field 2 and 3.   We will also need a lot of assistance as we build the auto security fence around the 2 and 3 fields.  We will call those who noted possible assistance on registration form ,

 The LongHorn Steakhouse has agreed to sponsor the 14th annual Steak Fry next year.   Please thank Manager John Mitchell who has sponsored the Steak Fry for 8 years. 

The DeNobles have been contracted to build the fireplace this Spring.  We will continue to seek donations to fully fund this project.  Our thanks to Capstone Holding Co for their dedication and donations to our project including the field earth moving and field preparation. 

  The St Clairsville Area Soccer Association welcomes you to the Capstone Soccer Complex. . The Barbecue has been finished.   The landscaping around the shelter has been completed and we anticipate the Shelter fireplace will soon be completed.  There is still a walking trail to be completed when fields and shelter are done. We are looking for a sponsor for this $45,500 project. Rick Ferrell has coordinated the building of the Rotary Soccer Pavilion and it is a real tribute to the volunteer efforts of those in the community. Please thank Rick for all of his hard work. The shelter will formally be known as the Capstone Rotary Shelter in honor of the gift the noon Rotary has given the Soccer Association. Rentals on the shelter will handled by  Rick Ferrell (695-1995)

If you would like to take a look at the soccer complex - take the Morristown 213 exit off of RT 70 W, and turn south on Airport Rd (County Road 82). The complex is 2 and 1/4 miles south from Route 40 on the right side.

The development fund drive continues and we encourage anyone who wishes to help with cash or in kind donations to contact the Association. We are a private non-profit entity with opportunities for naming rights to commemorate gifts,(including fields). A Second Bang Board is planned and advertisers are being sought for the front of the board. The back of the 1st and 2nd boards will be painted  and used for skill training and games(1st Board is now Painted for player games on the back).  We thank the advertisers for their support that allows us to pay for the field maintenance materials.  Advertisers are The Longhorn, Whitesides, AllState-Rick Ferrell, Citizens, Fireplace N Fixens and Seachrist Kennon and Marling.  Please take a look them and patronize our sponsors.
