Upper Perk shuts down Pius

POTTSTOWN - Keith Ganther and Dan Wothers combined on a four-hitter as Upper Perkiomen used an opportunistic offense and solid defense to defeat St. Pius X in a PAC-1O game.
Ganther worked the first five innings, allowing just three hits and the Lions' lone run while walking no one and fanning two. Wothers finished with two innings of one-hit, shutout relief for the Indians (8-5), who opened a 2-1 lead to 6-1 with a four-run rally in the fifth. The frame featured two walks, two errors, Chase Symons' single and Rich Rodenberger's double down the right-field line.
Pius (6-5) scored in the fourth on Tom DeAngelis' lead-off double and Steve Cimino's sacrifice fly.
