SPRC Stingrays: SPRC Newsletter
Message from Coaches - Week of May 3, 2009
We are now a month into the long course season, and things have been progressing very well. The coaches are pleased with the efforts being put forth at practice, and the swimmers that have attended meets have done a nice job. The practices in each group have been a little more demanding this spring, and the swimmers are really stepping up. The foundation they are building this spring will be used as a springboard into the summer. We would like to see more swimmers attending the long course meets. It's a great experience for young swimmers to swim in a 50m pool.

Streamline, streamline, streamline!
Proper streamline technique: Arms straight in front, upper arms behind ears, hand over hand, locking your hands together with your thumb. The head is in line with the spine in a 'neutral' position, and the abdomen is tightened to keep body straight with no arches. Streamline position should be attained before puching off wall and before entering water on a start. Streamline off of every wall every time!
