The game started slowly for the Green Lazers with the Fireballs beginning the game with a five run inning, the first the team has given up all year. However, there was no quit in the Green Lazer spirit. Samantha led the hitting with a leadoff homerun. This was followed by hits from Maxine, Deijah and Noel, which got the team back in the ballgame. The Green Lazer bats remained hot as Kristen began the next inning with a homerun and more hits came from Camille, Hannah and Juliette. On one play, Noel grounded out to 2nd base, but the speed of Deijah allowed us to score two runs on the play. Never before in the 8U division has a team been more aggressive in running and sliding. Maxine finished strong on the mound not allowing a run for the rest of the game and making several nice plays in the field. Other defensive gems were made by Demi, Juliana, Deijah and Juliette.
With this victory, the Green Lazers clinched the regular season championship.
