ABOUT THE 2008 STINGRAY COACHES:
9u Blue Head Coach Todd Byrnes- Todd played 4 years of College basketball and 3 years of Varsity HS at Moore . Last season Todd's team won a birth in the 2006 Div.-2 Nationals.This is his 5th season with the Stingrays.
10under Blue Head Coach John Touhy . He has coached Pal,Nike,SI Elementry League and St. Teresa's CYO. This is his 1st season as head coach.
10under Gold Head Coach Jay Zeris . Jay coached the St. Joseph by the Sea HS girls for several years.He has coached Pal,NikeThis is his 1st season as Stingrays head coach.
11u Head Coach-Robin Dolan
12u Head Coach Tom Marchiano
13u Head Coach Mike Reape-Mike was the head coach at Tottenville HS for several years. Now is head coach at SI Acadamy Girls Varsity team. Mike Runs the Sports Department at the JCC. He has coached and ran several basketball leagues on and off Staten Island.
13u Assist Coach Ira Kamil-This is Ira's Second season with the Stingrays. This year he joins Mike Reape to coach the 13u boys.He has Coached at the JCC and CYO for over 13 years.
14U Blue-Head Coach Bob Mandia, This is Bob's Third year wth the Stingrays.He Has worked at Saracheck basketball camp;Former coach Our lady Star of the Sea. Bob has coached in PAL and last Season won the 12u S.I.Nike League Championship.
14u Gold Co-Head Coach . Coach Joe Grande a graduate of St. Joseph by the Sea and is now attending St. John's S.I. This is Joe's first Season as Head Coach . Third with the Stingrays.
15under Head Coach Jose Pacheco. This is Jose's third year with Stingrays. He has coached Pal,Nike,SI Elementry League, Brooklyn's Interborough league and Holy Rosary CYO.
15 U Girls- Coach By Rose Bruno, Assisted by Ed Bruno. Rose is a former Island player and an alumna of Notre Dame Academy and Molloy College. Rose Currently coaches St. Christophers CYO 8th grade girls team. Ed is a former Stingray's coach, this is his 4th season with the stingrays.
16U Blue Head Coach-RICH COSTELLO-Rich has coached for many years with St. Teresa's and in the Nike league and PAL league. This will be Rich's 5th Season with the Stingrays.
15U Blue Assist. Coach RICH COSTELLO JR.-Rich Jr. is coaching at Susan Wagner HS and is a good upcoming coach of which we hope to have around the Stingrays for a long time.
16U Gold Coach-Mike Neely Jr. was a Player for the Stingrays and know is in his second season as head coach. He is currently on the Coaching staff with Hofstra Univ. Mens Basketball
16U Gold Assist Coach-Tom Dinneney
16U Gold Coach Assist -Tom Tibbs Jr. was a Stingrays player for 3 seasons and know comes back as an assist coach. 2nd season.
16U Gold Coach Assist Coach Claudio Perfetto-played 2 season for the stingrays. Runs track at Wagner College this is his second seaseon as Assist coach
17U-Blue Head Coach-WENDELL STRADFORD-Wendell has been with the Stingrays for all 8 years. First as an Assist. Coach and now has been a head coach for this his 5th season.. Wendell is the Assist. Varsity Coach at Moore H.S. He has also coached in the PAL,Nike,Trucks leagues.
