SEMSA Mid-Season Meeting May 13, 20087:00 PM, Dundee Village HallAttendees: Lori Pavlika, Tim Purcell, Rita Vershum, Corinne Tipton, Tom Tipton, and Andrea Evans.Talking Points:- Logo Design Contest- No entries brought to the meeting. Will ask a design student to design the new logo.- GAME REPORTS!! (Take envelopes IF necessary)- Get them to the VP’s ASAP after the game.*IF you have a RED Card, this information needs to be sent to the appropriate VP (Girls/Boys) and the League President. - End of season Awards and AGM-Lori will check with Dundee churches. All others asked to think of places to hold the meeting. Usually have cookies and punch. - Boys Standings-Current ones given out at this meeting.- U10 Development Night After Action report-Report copies passed out at this meeting. Twenty players attended for a great event. This was AASC’s way of promoting travel soccer in the community.- Makeup’s/Reschedules-Make sure the appropriate VP knows about change so the referee scheduler gets the info.- Funding request from AASC-Letter from AASC requesting funds passed out.- Risk Management Status!!-Make sure all the coaches are current. Each club needs to check the MSYSA site for this info.- USE the Website: www.semsasoccer.org- SEMSA CUP· # Teams/Referees- 3 U10 boys, 1 U10 girls, 2 U12 boys, 4 U14 boys, 1 U14 girls, 2 HS boysRegistration deadline was extended to May 17 in attempt to get more teams.· Planned Volunteers/Events· Maui Wowi-Will be there.· Clothing Vendor (? Maybe….)Has another event that weekend but is trying to be there.· Clear Blue Foods (Have yet to contact)· AASC Concessions: Water, Gatorade, Ice cream· Dunk Tank (L. Layman, AASC)· Kelly’s Inflatable’s??· Soccer Shoot-out (times how fast the shot is).· “Player of the game” t-shirt given by each opposing coach in each game.· STILL NEED MORE TEAMS!!!!Olympus Tryouts: June 16-18, information will be sent to clubs by email.Saints Soccer Camp flyer passed out. Lori discussed possible Friday night training sessions utilizing technical coaches from BEST. Lori will write up a proposal. July 20-24-BEST summer evening camp, $125. Will be organized by Lori.St. Joseph’s middle school Michigan Rush soccer academy, Thurs. nights 5:30-6:30pm. www.rushsoccer.com SEMSA needs Secretary, VP Girls, and VP Boys.Rules and Bylaws need to be updated.Next meeting: AGM/Awards June 12th at 7pm, location TBA.
