Our club has made a lot of progress recently, this year, 2004, 10 members of the club will attend Nationals; this is approximately 1/3 of the club members. While there is no club competition in the sport, at the individual level the club have done well, 2 National Championships, 3 North American Championships, a second place and a third place at the National level or above competitions, other skaters have finished in the top 5 at Nationals. Additionally club members have done exceedingly well on the local and regional level.
At this year’s Short Track Nationals there are one or more skaters competing in 7 different age divisions, ranging from 9 to 48 years old. Our club members come from as far away as Atlanta, Winston-Salem, Fayetteville and Hendersonville, with over half the skaters being in Charlotte.
