First Half Regular Season Schedule

Hey all,

Please see attached First Half 2007-2008 Regular Season Schedule.

Plan and Co-Ordinate your Play, Work, School and Social Timetables accordingly ASAP!!!!!

Print off a copy of the schedule and post it in a place that will remind you of our game days well in advance.

It looks like that we will play a majority of our games the back to  back Sunday and Monday with our practice time on Thursday  nights.

I think that its a pretty decent schedule with not a whole lot of travel difficulties.

 Any questions, let me know.

Revised Conflict Schedule

Hey All,

As we head down the stretch of the tiering round our record sits at 0 wins 4 losses and 1 tie......Our re-scheduled make up game vs Langley A1 will be played Saturday, Oct. 27/07 @ 8:45-10-15 pm at the Langley Civic Center.

The last 3 games will  be pivtol and decide where we will ultimately be tiered.  We need to put together some wins if we want to stay in the top tier.

It's been a bit of a struggle as we're still juggling to finalize the roster and  put together a complete game.  The first period against N. Van A1 was by far the best hockey that I've seen to date and am enthused and can see the potential.  We are re-building and the fact that every team we play this year will be pumped and gunning to knock us off will make it  even tougher...as we are the defending BC provincical champs.

Thursday Night Practice

Please be prepared  to come with all proper equipment for a full contact practice on Thursday night.  This means everyone must have neck guards, shoulder pads and full face cages in order to participate.  I would also strongly recommend everyone to wear mouth guards....not only to protect your teeth, but more importantly against head injuries.....i.e. concussions.

We will be picking up our tiering round schedule this Thursday and have a good possibility to open with the first game in our Monday night slot.

We need to progress into game conditions and that means full speed and body contact.

Also, if you are not registered you will not be able to play on Monday if there is a game.....get going on the paperwork!!!!

Juveniles Prepare For New Season

The 2007-2008 edition of the reigning BC Provincial Juvenile Hockey Champions is beginning to take shape as we get ready for the opening tiering round to begin Oct. 1/07.  With 7 ice times under our belt it again appears that we will contend and have a good shot at repeating and defending our title this year in Prince George the end of March.

Rebuilding the defense and our goaltending is the challenge to date and we have a number of new faces that seem to fit the bill.  Jon Toigo, Graham Madden, Mitchell Lim and Jordan Bird are battling to fill big shoes.  Tyler Jang, Paul Ellis, Jamie Francis-Bain and Colin Hutchison are vying to be the number 1 backstopper.  Up front newcomers Jeremy McKeown, Alex Bailie and Mike Tobey have made good initial impressions.

Returning players, Splinter, Tommy Gun, Buck and Tweety are already flying and keen to get the season rolling.

We will be carrying a roster of no more than probably 18 bodies and won't be finalized until after a couple of exhibition and tiering round games in order to give everyone a good look under game conditions.

Rookies can look in our "Handout" Section and fill out the Questionaire and Contact information sheets.

MAKE SURE YOUR REGISTRATION AND PAPERWORK IS COMPLETE!!!

YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY GAMES UNTIL YOU ARE

ACKNOWLEDGED AND CONFIRMED BY THE SDMHA

                                                  REGISTRAR

 Any questions, let me know.

Equipment

Please be reminded that proper equipment as set out by Hockey Canada, BC Hockey, PCAHA and SDMHA such as face masks and neck guards are mandatory before you go on the ice.

To date, we have been lax about these regulations but will be checking, enforcing and requiring that all players adhere and have all the proper equipment when on the ice for practices and games.

Tape, stick wax, practice ice time costs and other accessories will be made available as part of the team operating funds of approximately $150.00 - $200.00 per player to be collected once the roster is finalized.  We will have team fund raising functions during the course of the season to help reduce and  subsidize this cost.  We will also be looking for team sponsors to help reduce these expenditures.

Anyone knowing of any potential sponsors, please let me know.

All players will be required to have and bring 2 sticks to every game.

Any questions, let me know.

Leroy

Review "New NHL Rules" for Minor Hockey 2006-2007
Please click on the attached above link to the site that will demonstate and explain through video the new rules that will be placed and enforced for the upcoming season. Once you are at the site click on the "It's a New Game" picture and it will take you to a site where you can see all the various components and areas of play that will be affected most. Take the time to carefully watch and review what the referees will be looking for. You may have to adjust your style and type of game according. If you fail to conform appropriately, you may find yourself spending a good portion of the game in the "sin bin".

It is critical and important that you understand, not only defensively, but offensively as well how these changes will affect "YOUR" game.

Any questions, please call.
