Rain Out Procedures

Dave Matovina is back as the Umpire Chair and is now the contact for any game cancellations due to weather. Please contact Dave with any game cancellations so that he can contact the umpires @ 970-389-1157

·         Games will not be canceled on a League wide basis.  Coaches should mutually decide to cancel a game although the home team Coach has the final say.  Inter-league games should be cancelled several hours (depending on travel time for the away team) prior to game time.  Note: Once a game begins it is the umpires call.

·         T-ball and Machine Pitch games will not be rescheduled by SYBS.  However, Coaches may mutually decide to reschedule their game during one of their scheduled practice times.

 ·         When canceling a Minor, Major or Junior game the home team Coach must contact the Umpire Chair immediately to avoid having the umpires show up unnecessarily : Dave Matovina @ 970-389-1157

·        To reschedule a Minor, Major or Junior game contact the SYBS Administrator, Amanda Wandtke, by email @ sybsadmin@gmail.com

Note: Fridays are reserved for make up games

Summit Youth Baseball & Softball

The objective of SYBS is to promote good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority in the children of the community, so that they may be well adjusted, stronger and happier children and will grow to be good, decent, healthy and trustworthy citizens by providing a supervised program of baseball & softball under the Rules and Regulations of Little League Baseball, Inc. All Directors, Officers, Coaches, Umpires and Parents shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary, and the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.

SYBS operates exclusively as a non-profit educational organization and depends on volunteer board members, coaches and umpires. If you are interested in being part of youth baseball or softball in Summit County, check the appropriate box on your player’s Registration Form and complete the Volunteer Application Form.  All volunteers must submit to a criminal background check and attend the free coach or umpire training clinics.
