  Welcome

Welcome to Camp Camel!

The South Carroll Camels compete in the Baltimore Beltway Soccer League.

In the fall of 2009, the Camels participated in the Freedom First Tournament, the Gettysburg Blast, and the SAC Columbus Day Tournament.  The combined record of these three tournaments against NSCL, BBSL and top notch teams from the Eastern Shore was 4 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties.    Camp Camel was a success again this year - great food and fellowship during the Gettysburg Blast.

Thanks again to all the Camels parents and players for making our team one that has beaten many of the local Carroll County teams one time or another over the last three years.  The Camel finished with a winning record in the BBSL in 2009.

Men from Baltimore's professional soccer team - Crystal Palace - trained the Camels this summer.   In addition, Kenan McCoy, a three time Captain for the University of Maryland men's soccer team contributes his vast know how and is the team's trainer.    Kenan is one of a few BBSL coaches who holds a U.S.S.F  'C'  License .   Kenan is also a South Carroll High School coach.  The Camels will participate with the High School players in the summer of 2010 South Carroll High Shool training camp.   Boys will also be encouraged to join the Middle School teams in the summer.

The Camels do not discourage multi-sport athletes.

In the winter, the boys will play Sunday futsal games to keep sharp and to allow boys to wrestle and play basketball on Saturday.    Some boys play indoor soccer.

Last spring, the Camels participated in the Quadra League.    Quadra leagues (4 v 4) are recommended by the U.S. Youth Soccer Association and is often found in European youth soccer.    A major reason the Camels play in the Quadra-League is to allow many of the boys to enjoy baseball or lacrosse.

This approach avoids soccer burnout while offering a fun, competitive experience preparing them for high school success.

The Camels will be looking for new players to fill out the 2010 fall roster.  If interested, please contact Paul Donohoe at (410) 635-2094 or sc.camels09@gmail.com  for team information and join us for futsal or spring ball.

 Go Camels!!!

"As a CAMEL beareth labour, and heat, and hunger, and thirst, through deserts of sand, and fainteth not; so the fortitude of a man shall sustain him through all perils"

-Akhenaton (King of Egypt, 14th century BC)

"A CAMEL in the mud fights like a wild beast - a beast named CRAZY TRAIN.  Laying out for the ball, making Premiership caliber saves, this beast sustains the other South Carroll footballers and parents through the fields of wet clay"

- Poopatar (Prince of Taylorsville, 21st century AD)

The Camels are coached by Paul Donohoe, John Palatella, and Kenan McCoy
