Getting into shape has never been so affordable. Sweden/Clarkson Recreation offers you the BEST fitness membership deal in the area. Our fitness center features cardio-vascular machines including 3 treadmills, 3 elliptical machines, an upright and a recumbent bicycle. We also have station machines for toning all of the different muscle groups of the body. Hand weights are available in weights of 5-75 lbs. Exercise while viewing two satellite televisions or while listening to music.

Through SilverSneakers you'll receive fitness center membership benefits and SilverSneakers Classes.

CROC ROCS BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Games, Trained Staff, PlayStation, Snacks, Arts & Crafts, Movies, Bumper Pool & Ping Pong, Pool Table, and much much more!!
The Croc Rocs Before and After School Program is a great way for kids in grades K-6 to spend their time before and after school. Children will participate in a program of structured activities and independent play that focuses on social interaction and asset building. Children will be under the supervision of trained professional staff. The program will consist of homework assistance, arts and crafts, and opportunities to play old and new games. Bus transportation will be provided for each age group from Brockport Central Schools to the Sweden/Clarkson Recreation Center. A parent or pre-specified individual must come inside the Recreation Center to sign participants(s) in and out of the program.

BRIGHT BEGINNINGS PRESCHOOL (Where Children Shine)
Children will enjoy a nurturing environment with time to play, explore, and imagine. Includes: computer center, age-appropriate activities, Theme/ center based curriculum, field trips, pre-reading/pre-math skills, hands-on science activities and an emphasis on kindergarten readiness. PRE-SCHOOL WRAP AROUND PROGRAM
SWEDEN/CLARKSON PRE-SCHOOL WRAP AROUND PROGRAM (4-5 year olds)
This program is an extension to the average preschool day! We have lunch, rest time, gym tims, sports, games, musical activities and special events such as cooking, nature walks and small science experiments! These are just a few of the experiences these children will be facing the following year in Kindergarten!
Each day will have a theme and activities will be more recreational based!
Some scheduled themes are: Mini MAD Scientist, Math Maniacs, Music and Movement, Sporties for Shorties, Romp and Stomp exercise, Cooking around the World and more!
DATES: September 2007 - May 2008 (while school is in session)
TIMES: 11:45am - 2:30pm (Immediately following Bright Beginnings Preschool)
DAYS: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (4 Year Olds)
Tuesday and Thursday (3 Year Olds)

Participants are responsible for rest rug and lunch. We have full use of the entire recreation center!
YOUTH ASSETS GROUP
THE POWER OF ASSETS
On one level, the 40 developmental assets represent everyday wisdom about positive experiences and characteristics for young people. In addition, Search Institute research has found that these assets are powerful influences on adolescent behavior - both protecting young people from many different problem behaviors and promoting positive attitudes and behaviors. This power is evident across all cultural and socioeconomic group of youth. There is also evidence from other research that assets may have the same kind of power for younger children.
PROTECTING YOUTH FROM HIGH-RISK BEHAVIORS
Assets have tremendous power to protect youth from many different harmful or unhealthy choices. To illustrate, these charts show that youth with the most assets are least likely to engage in four different patterns oh high-risk behavior.

-Illicit Drug Use
-Violence
-Sexual Activity
The same kind of impact is evident with many other problem behaviors, including tobacco use, depression, attempted suicide, antisocial behavior, school problems, driving and alcohol, and gambling. In addition to protecting youth from negative behaviors, having more assets increases the chances that young people will have positive attitudes and behaviors.
