This team is a girls Travel team participating in the Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer League (PAGS). In addition to league play, the AXE participate in numerous local and out of state tournaments. Reading AXE Champions at Twin Valley Summer Classic
The Reading AXE U17 Girls (Steve Neiman) were champions at this summers' Twin Valley Summer Classic. The AXE opened up the tournament with a win against the Severna Park Rage (MD) 2-1. The AXE would then beat teams from Wilson. East Brunswick and Schuylkill Valley and finish the tournament with a record of 4-0. Way to go AXE !!!!!

Reading AXE Champions at 21st Al Perlini Tournament
The Reading AXE (U 17 Girls Steve Neiman ) were crowned champions this weekend at the 21st annual Warminster Soccer Clubs' Al Perlini Tournament. The AXE participated in the U19 Varsity Division at this years event. The AXE opened up the tournament with a 1-1 draw against the Hunter Hurricanes. The AXE's next match would be against the Phoenix Flames and would emerge victorious with a 1-0 score. Their next match would be aginst the Ukranian Nationals Patriots. The AXE would again emerge victorious with a 1-0 victory. The AXE's last match would be against the Hatboro Horsham Heat. The AXE would take this match 2-1 and be crowned champions in the division. Way to go AXE !!!!!!!!

Reading AXE Finalists at the 2008 Ukranian Nationals Invitational Tournament
The Reading AXE U16 Girls were the Finalists at the Ukranians Tournament this Memorial Day weekend. The girls opened up the weekend with a 2-0 loss to the Fox Chase Lightning. Following the opening loss, the AXE settled down and finished off the day with a 5-0 win over the Warrington Panthers. On Sunday, the AXE opened up the day with a 2-0 win against the Hulmeville Charge. With the win, the AXE were 2-1 for the weekend. For their final match of the tournament, the AXE would face another team with a record of 2-1 in the Second to None Royal Dominators. This match would come down to who wanted it more. Both teams were playing hard and each had their scoring chances. The AXE were able to keep the Dominators off the board with some great defense and great goaltending. The match went into the half tied 0-0. Coming out of break, both teams picked up where they left off. Through some hard work and gritty determination, the AXE were able to net a goal 10 mins into the second half. The match would go back and forth for the remainder of the match with the AXE keeping the Dominators off the board for the 1-0 win. With the exception of the 2 goals given up to eventual champion Fox Chase, the AXE held the remaining 3 teams scoreless and took the finalist trophy. Way to go AXE !!!!!!!!

Reading AXE Finalists at the 20th Annual Al Perlini Tournament
The Reading AXE ( U-16 Girls Steve Neiman) were the finalists this weekend at the Al Perlini tournament hosted by the Warminster Soccer Club. The AXE participated in the U-17 Division and were able to hold their own in the higher age bracket. The AXE won all 4 of their matches of the tournament beating Dublin-Darlington SC (Md) 1-0 in the opening match, defeating Montgomery United (Pa) 2-0, Besting the Ukranian Patriots (Pa) 2-1, and finishing off the final team, Langhorne Strikers (Pa) 2-1. The division consisted of 6 teams with each team playing 4 of the other 5. The only team the AXE didn't play was the Lanco U17 team. Lanco also won all 4 of their matches and according to the tournament tiebreaker rules outpointed us. The AXE worked hard and can be proud of their accomplishments playing in a U17 division and not losing any matches. They were co-champions of the tournament as far as they're concerned. Way to go AXE !!!!!!!.

Reading AXE and AXE 2 Finalists at 2007 Beach Blast
The Reading AXE (U15 Girls) traveled this past weekend to participate in the 2007 Cape Express Beach Blast sand soccer tournament. The Reading AXE competed in the U15 Sun division while the Reading AXE 2 competed in the Sea division. The girls who have been to this tournament before were on the AXE and those new to beach soccer were on the AXE 2 team. In typical AXE fashion, both teams advanced to the championship match. The AXE finished the preliminary matches with a 2 - 1 record, falling to Lansing United (PA) and beating both Pennsville (NJ) and TRIC United (NJ). The AXE 2 advanced by going 2-0-1 in the preliminary matches, playing to a draw against E-town Elite (PA) and beating Lumberton (NJ) and Hatboro-Horsham (PA)The AXE would fall to Fox Chase (PA) and the AXE 2 would fall to Rancocas Valley (NJ). Both teams finished the weekend as Finalists. Way to go AXE

Reading AXE Finalists at the Shoot for the Cure Tournament 2007
The Reading AXE (U15 Girls Steve Neiman) were the Finalists at tne Montgomery United Soccer Clubs' Shoot for the Cure tournament this past weekend. The AXE participated in this all girls tournament with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The AXE opened the weekend with two victories over Lower Marion and West Chester United by scores of 2-0 and 4-0 respectively. On Sun. , the AXE continued their domination with a 1-0 victory over Montgomery United. This victory assured the AXE a place in the Championship match against Lower Marion. The AXE took a 1-0 lead early in the match, however, moments later, one of the AXE players was injured and had to be taken from the field. The AXE tried to get back on track, but were unable to get back in sync. Lower Marion would go on to score 3 unanswered goals after the injury. The AXE finished the tournament with the best record 3-1 but took the Finalists title. Way to go AXE !!!!!!! Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

READING AXE CHAMPIONS PAGS DIV-1
The Reading AXE (U15 Girls Steve Neiman) captured the PAGS U15 Division 1 championship this past weekend. The AXE finished the regular season schedule with a record of 6-2-1. This gave the AXE the second seed in the end of season playoffs also earning them a home playoff game on Saturday. In the seni-final match, at Farming Ridge,the AXE went up against the Horsham Wildcats. The AXE defeated the Wildcats 4-2 earning them a spot in the final on Sunday. For the final, the AXE would be pitted against the SCCSA Jaguars in Wallingford. The AXE would fall behind early on a quick goal by SCCSA early in the contest. Not losing any cofindence, the AXE would tie up the match and pull ahead with a second goal in the first half taking a 2-1 lead into halftime. The second half would be hard fought with both teams having their chances to score. The AXE would get a third goal just past midway in the half to go up 3-1. The AXE then shut down the Jaguars the rest of the way to claim the championship. Congratulations AXE on you championship, you;ve earned it.

AXE finish as Finalists at the Battle at Hilltop
The Reading AXE (U15 Girls Steve Neiman) continued the tradition of placing at a tournament for the sixth consecutive time. This past weekend, the AXE participated in WestMont United's Batlle at Hilltop tournament. The tournament was held in nearby Limerick, Pa. The format of the tournament had the AXE playing 3 mini games to create a seeding for divisional placements. The AXE began the tournament facing the Baltimore Bays and fell to them 1-0 in the 1st mini. The AXE rebounded with a 2-0 win over the Montgomery Stampede. They finished up the mini games with a 0-0 tie with the Warminster Herricanes. The AXE would be seeded 3rd in Division 1 after the mini games. The Division 1 makeup would be the Baltimore Bays, Pheonix Fury , Reading AXE and the Pottsgrove Shock.
THe AXE would open the championship rounds of the tournament facing the Baltamore Bays again. However, the girls were up to the challenge and took a 1-0 lead into the half. The Bays came back in the 2nd half and tied the game with a goal late in the the half ending regulation play 1-1. The tournament format would then have the teams play 7 v 7 with no goalies with a golden goal rule. The AXE would fall to the Bays 2-1. The AXE came back and defeated the Phoenix Fury 1-0 in the 2nd match and finished off the Pottsgrove Shock in the 3rd match with a 2-1 win in another overtime match. The Baltimore Bays took 1st place and the AXE finished as Finalists in Division 1. Way to go AXE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
