Important Message from the Scoll President
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to let you know about a tragic accident this past week during a weather-related delay in a Spotsylvania County (Va.) Little League game. One child died as a result of a lightning strike, and another was injured.
We at Stoney Creek Optimist Little League extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Little Leaguer Chelal Matos. Our thoughts and prayers also are with the child who was injured, and with his family.
As you know, Little League International has provided extensive information to its member leagues on lightning safety, in conjunction with the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. I'm taking this opportunity to remind all board members,coaches, parents and volunteers on how important it is to follow the rules set forth to protect the ones closest to us.
Sincerely,
Steve Bagnell

Little League Pledge
Love My Baseball by Bob Schneider
A Little Reminder
Just a Little Boy
He stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast;
The bases are loaded; the die has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help him; he stands alone;
A hit at this moment, would send the team home.
The ball nears the plate, he swings and he misses;
Theres a groan from the crowd, some boos and hisses.
A thoughtless voice cries, Strike out the bum.
Tears fill his eyes; the games no longer fun.
Remember, hes just a little boy who stands alone.
So open your heats and give him a break,
For its moments like this, a man you can make.
Keep this in mind when you hear someone forget
Hes just a little boy and not a man yet
