Strathmore Community Football Association: Welcome

Welcome to the Strathmore Community Football Association - BADGER FOOTBALL

The Strathmore Community Football Association (SCFA) operates three football programs in the Strathmore, Alberta area. The SCFA has been in operation since 1998, when the Senior (High School aged) team was started; in 2000 the Bantam Program was initiated, and the Pee Wee program started up in 2009.

As had been discussed for a few years, to improve our IDENTITY and BRANDING, and to better define the separation of the Strathmore COMMUNITY Football Association from other area establishments:

In 2015 the SCFA has adopted the team name "BADGERS".

The Senior Football Program sees changes for 2015, the Senior team will now be a community based program, open to everyone. Eligibility is open to ALL students under 19 on Nov 1 of the current year, taking HS courses. Changes to SCFA Senior eligibility had been discussed for numerous years, this change was facilitated to have the Senior team better service ALL participants of our Bantam and PeeWee programs.  In 2015, the Senior Program will participate in the Mountain View Football Conference (MVFC), a non ASAA, 9 Man football league, for highschool aged players.

NEW Bantam Badgers HC - Greg Zaugg

SCFA Executive announced that Greg Zaugg has accepted a promotion from the PeeWee coaching staff to the Head Coach position of the Bantam team.  Greg has been coaching with SCFA for a few years and had been the 2IC for PW HC Doug Thiessen.

The Executive was informed by Mike Hopp earlier in the year that although he really enjoyed working with the program and players, that due to employment workload etc he would be stepping down as Head Coach.  The Executive thanks Coach Mike for his hard work and dedication while with the SCFA Staff.
