Parent Club Organization - SCCSA has provided children with an opportunity to participate in this wonderful sport since 1977. As many of you know the club provides an in-house instructional program as well as a travel program – together there are more than thirteen hundred children participating in the club. The Travel Program has grown from 8 teams seven years ago to 20 teams this year. This sustained growth has only been accomplished through the extensive and sometimes exhaustive efforts of the many parent volunteers associated with the program. To them we owe our continued thanks for their countless hours on and off the field.

The tournament benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and was a huge success. 100% of the net proceeds goes directly to the charity to help find a cure and raise breast cancer awareness. Our 2005 donation of $20,000.00 brings our total donated in 4 years to over $52,000.00. COERVER® COACHING's
COERVER® COACHING believes that team systems and tactics are important but they cannot fully compensate for poor control, inaccurate passing or other technical weaknesses. Ultimately team organization is only as effective as the individual players in it.

Our Philosophy is based on the premise that the game consists of sequences of play between 2, 3 and sometimes 4 players, in various parts of the field, and that Team Success is determined by player performances in these exchanges.

Middle States Soccer Camp
MiddleStatesSoccerCamp_L2_01_06.jpg

Middle States Soccer Camp is known for its diverse programs which meet the needs of a wide range of players. In our 32nd consecutive summer each session provides something unique and features a curriculum different from that in any other week. Our recently established partnerships with Tamir Linhart Soccer and Soccer Academy enables us to offer Day Camps and Mini-Camps to supplement our own residential programs. At Middle States there is something for everyone, so every applicant should review our sessions carefully to decide what weeks are most suitable.

Regardless of which session they attend, our campers will continue to benefit from the same features that have been at the core of Middle States training throughout the years. Our low (7:1) ratio of players to coaches guarantees close personal attention. Virtually every member of our staff has a coaching license from U.S. Soccer. However, both our coaches and our counselors are chosen not merely for their knowledge but for their ability to understand and relate to young people. We are retaining some of our innovative new programs such as the Varsity Circuit and Soccer-Specific Conditioning. We still provide a balance between training and competitive play. Most Importantly, we will maintain our three-fold emphasis on safety, enjoyment, and improvement. It is our goal that everyone who attends Middle States will have a positive experience and leave with a greater appreciation of and love for the game.

Overview of National and State Coaching Licenses
National Coaching Schools

Created in 1970 by the famed West German coach Detmar Cramer, the USSF National Coaching Schools offers fours levels of licensing ("A", "B", "C" and US Soccer Youth Licenses). Candidates attending the national coaching schools go through a rigorous nine-day schedule of field and classroom sessions, concluding with extensive testing on theoretical and practical applications of the game. During these 30 plus years of licensing nearly 10,000 coaches have earned a National License, but only 1,290 have earned their "A" license.

The USSF also offers the "D", "E" and Youth Modules, which are available through each state association. While the state associations are responsible for the execution of these courses, the curriculm is controlled by USSF.

It's great to have big dreams. We've all done it before. (Remember taking on the NBA pros in the driveway... and winning?) Achieving these dreams takes hard work. In the early 1970's, Cathy Rush had big dreams for a team from a tiny school in Pennsylvania. As head coach of Immaculata College in the 1970's, this Member of the Basketball Hall of Fame led her "Mighty Macs" to five national championship games, winning three consecutive national titles... an accomplishment still unsurpassed by any collegiate women's basketball coach! While stressing fundamentals and using game tactics labeled "way ahead of her time," Cathy compiled a record of 149-15, a winning-percentage of 91%! As a result, Cathy and the "Mighty Macs" from Immaculata College took the country by storm playing in the first nationally televised game and playing in front of over 12,000 fans at Madison Square Garden!

We will develop successful teams that support the intellectual, athletic and personal endeavors of our student-athletes. Additionally, the department will operate the athletics program and manage its resources in a manner having the most beneficial impact on student-athletes, coaches, staff and the University Community, within the parameters set by the Operating Principles of the NCAA.

We are a department committed to:

* Developing student-athletes academically, athletically and socially, with the intent of aiding the efforts of each to graduate with a high-quality college education, advance toward a rewarding career and contribute to society.

* Supporting equitable opportunities for all student-athletes, administrators and staff, including women and minorities.

* Modeling the principles of teamwork, sportsmanship, ethical conduct and leadership, and instilling these principles within each student-athlete.
