Game 1

In their first true road series of the season, the Pride rose to the challenge.  The Tartan offense won every inning of game one, and put the game away for good with seven runs in the 5th inning.  Starter Jon Thacker turned in another very strong performance with his first complete game of the season.

Final Score: Sinclair 14 Potomac State 2

WP: Jon Thacker (1-0) 5 IP 3H 2R 0ER

Offensive Leaders: Kyle Vander Ark 2-3 BB 2RS, Dan Lawrence 3-3 2RS 2B 2 RBI, Nick McGill 1-1 2RS 2BB, Austin Downing 3-4 RS 4 RBI's, Drew Williams 3-4 2RS 2B 3B 2 RBI's.

Game 2

After an offensive outburst in the first game, game two was a pitchers dual.  Both starters matched each other with zeros on the scoreboard until Sinclair got on the board in the 5th.  Nick McGill led the inning off with a triple to right center and scored on a groundball to short off the bat of Austin Downing.  Pride starter Ian Creager continued his dominance over hitters and didn't get into any trouble until the 6th (After 5 innings, 1 H, 9 K's.)  With one out, Creager gave up a double to center just over the head of Jon Lowe.  The next batter hit a ball to right center that was also just out of the reach of a diving Lowe.  The tying run scored, but a perfect relay from Nick McGill to Joe Ford to Austin Downing nailed the runner trying for a triple.  Back-to-back singles from the Catamounts chased Creager out of the game and brought in TJ Teets.  Teets worked quickly and got a groundout too short to end the threat.  Both teams had their chances in the next few innings but neither would score until extra innings.  In the 9th, Kyle Vander Ark led things off with a walk and advanced to second on a balk.  An unsuccessful sacrifice from Darwin Argumedo brought up Nick McGill with Vander Ark still on second.  McGill's speed beat out a groundball to the left side of the infield and Austin Downing loaded the bases after being hit by the pitch.  Drew Williams had another clutch plate appearance drawing a walk that would end up being the winning run.  The Pride added on with a fielder's choice groundout from Mike Maddle and two RBI singles from Dan Holtzman and Jon Lowe.  Teets shut the door down in the 9th for his second win of the season.

Final Score: Sinclair 5 Potomac State 1

WP: TJ Teets (2-0) 3 1/3 4 H BB K

Offensive Leaders: Jon Lowe 2-5 RBI, Joe Ford 1-3 BB, Nick McGill 2-4 2RS 3B, Dan Holtzman 1-3 RBI.

Sinclair goes for the sweep tomorrow at noon with Stephen Holland on the mound.  With the two wins, the Pride improve 9-2.
