BOTJER MAKES STRONG DEBUT FOR COPPERHEADS IN GREAT LAKES LEAGUE!
Zach Botjer didn't take long to make an impact for the Southern Ohio Copperheads. Getting the call on Tuesday and reporting on Saturday, Botjer came into the game trailing 1-0 in the 6th inning. After striking out the first two hitters that he faced, Botjer gave up a bloop double and hit a batter. With two on and two out he recorded his third strikeout of the inning ending his day on the mound. In the top of the inning the Copperheads would tie the game up at one and had many chances to set up Botjer for the win but could not come through. Southern Ohio would lose the game 2-1 in extra innings. Botjer is not the only Sinclair player playing for the Copperheads this summer. Justin Marrero a incomming transfer plays and so does former Sinclair SS Chad Geier. You can follow these players all summer long on the Copperheads website: http://aspnet.cob.ohiou.edu/copperheads/index.aspx

PRIDE MAKE A RUN THROUGH THE LOSERS BRACKET BUT FALL IN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TO KELLOGG!
The Pride extended their season Sunday afternoon by knocking out Vincennes University 5-2 in the losers bracket final. Jacob Robinson turned in his best performance of the year on the mound allowing only two runs in 6 2/3 innings. With two outs, two strikes and a runner on first, Robinson injured his thumb on a slow roller base hit to 3rd base. He was forced to leave the game and Jordan Russell came in to close the door. Russell struck out Kotter to end the game and pick up his Sinclair Baseball record 10th save of the season. Top Offensive Performers: Dan Marsh 2-3 3B, John Lydic 1-2 RBI.
For the first time in school history the Tartan Pride reached the Regional Final and found themsleves taking on Kellogg for the 2nd time in the tournament. With a bunch of tired arms (Six games in three days) the Pride battled and played their hearts out only to fall 10-4. Kellogg will represent Region 12 in the World Series in two weeks. Three Sinclair players made the All-Tournament team this year: Jacob Robinson, Dan Marsh, and Clay Ragland.
The Pride finished the season at 36-12 and OCCAC Conference Champions.
