South Beach Youth Football Association Seahawks: Seahawk History

history
A Rich History of Youth Football in South Beach Communities
Youth football in the Brevard County beach communities has had a long standing tradition, dating back to such teams as the Chiefs and Packers in the 1970's, Cowboys and Buccaneers in the 1980's and today, carrying on that tradition with the South Beach Seahawks. The South Beach Youth Football Association Seahawks evolved from a program with one team, known as the Satellite Beach Cowboys in 1991. With the addition of a number of teams and the need to support the growth of the organization, a group of concerned parents and coaches incorporated the South Beach Youth Football Association (SBYFA) in 1994, as a not-for-profit organization formed and managed by community leaders, parents and others, who were interested in providing a positive environment that fosters learning, teamwork, and the self-esteem/image of youth in our communities. Today, over 13 years since the Seahawks inaugural season, the association has 6 tackle and 4 flag football teams with over 400 players and cheerleaders participating in our program.
