Saddle Brook Hosting The Super Bowl This Saturday

Saddle Brook is hosting the Super Bowl games this Saturday at Veterans' Field.  Our Pee Wee squad plays in the first game (5:00 pm start) - we encourage all fans to come out and support our home team! Special Super Bowl merchandise will be sold at the field as well...

Please note that there is an entrance fee...gate fees and the 50/50 are coordinated by league officials since it is the Super Bowl...additional parking is available in the Nourison parking lot across the street from the Dollar General store as we are expecting a packed house.

The match-ups are as follows:

Pee Wee Game - KICKOFF at 5:00 PM

  • Saddle Brook Falcons vs. Rutherford Bulldogs

Junior Game

  • North Arlington Vikings vs. Harrison Blue Tide

Senior Game

  • Hasbrouck Heights Aviators vs. Lyndhurst Bears

Pee Wees Going To The Super Bowl!
Congratulations to the Pee Wee team who are advancing to the Super Bowl after surviving both rounds of playoffs!  Unfortunately, it's the end of the road for our Junior & Senior squads who both suffered tough losses in the semi-final round last weekend.  We hope that everyone will come out and support our Pee Wees this Saturday at the Super Bowl!  Good Luck Boys!

PLAYOFF SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS - Sunday, November 8th

The league has posted the brackets/times/locations for next weekend's first round of playoffs.  The Pee Wee and Senior squads are playing in Elmwood Park and the Junior squad is playing in Wood-Ridge - all games are on Sunday, November 8th:

Pee Wee - Saddle Brook vs. Ridgefield Park - 11:00 am start in Elmwood Park

Junior - Saddle Brook vs. Hasbrouck Heights - 12:00 Noon start in Wood-Ridge

Senior - Saddle Brook vs. New Milford - 1:00 pm start in Elmwood Park

NOTE: start time for Junior & Senior games is approximate pending end of PW/JR games in each location

Directions to both locations can be found under the DIRECTIONS tab on the left.

Head Coaches will advise as to arrival time and jersey color later this week.

Mighty Mite Day This Sunday For Pee Wee 7 Squad

While the PW, JR & SR squads are squaring off against division rivals in the first round of the playoffs this Sunday, our Pee Wee 7 squad will be participating in Mighty Mite Day, which will take place in Westwood.  They will be playing Oakland at 1:00 pm...good luck boys!

FALCONS ADVANCE TO PLAYOFFS!
Congratulations to our Pee Wee, Junior and Senior squads - yesterday marked the last game of the regular season and all three squads have advanced to next week's playoffs!  As soon as the league posts the game times and locations, we will update the information on this site...a special congratulations to the 2009 PEE WEE SQUAD - Northern Division Champions!  Good luck to all of our teams in the coming weeks as we make our way to the SUPER BOWL, taking place in Saddle Brook this year on Saturday, November 21st.  More information to follow...

8th Graders Honored
On November 1st, we honored all 8th grade football players and cheerleaders at Senior Recognition Day.  Thank you to ALL of the people that helped to make this event a big success! We will be posting photos soon in the PHOTOS section...Congratulations 8th graders...and good luck in high school!

We are now playing on Sunday, October 25th in Hasbrouck Heights instead of at Veterans Field due to the weather forecast for the next 48 hours...

HOWEVER, the Pee Wee game will not start until 3:00 pm, with Juniors and Seniors to follow.

ANNUAL BEEFSTEAK IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER...
The Football Program will hold its Annual Fundraising Beefsteak & Tricky Tray on Friday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm at the Saddle Brook VFW on Market Street.  We are asking all parents to support this event by attending and/or donating items/baskets for the Tricky Tray portion of the event.  Fliers were distributed last week through the coaches...to purchase tickets or ask questions, contact Debi Murphy-Valania (debram0309@optonline.net) or Kim Azzolino (jkazzo@optonline.net).

Individual & Team Photos will be taken on Tuesday, October 6th at Veterans' Field.  ALL PLAYERS are asked to participate, even if they are not purchasing photographs.  Pictures will begin at 5:00 pm with the FLAG division...remaining divisions will be given the time to report to the field over the next few days...Picture Forms will be distributed at the end of this week...PW7, PW, JR & SR SQUADS - BLUE JERSEYS FOR ALL...

Ups & Downs On Opening Weekend

The Saddle Brook Jr. Falcons opened their season this weekend to mixed weather and mixed results.  The Flag teams were rained out on Saturday morning, which means that they will open their season on Wednesday.  Saturday night's Pep Rally at the High School was a fun time for all of the kids and an exciting way to kick off the season.  Join us next weekend at Veterans' Field for our HOME opener...Pee Wee 7 (Mighty Mites) kick off at 3:45 pm against Hawthorne, and the PW/JR/SR squads take on Rutherford...

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Pee Wee, Junior, Senior practices CANCELLED tonight due to inclement weather...

Some important notes on this busy football weekend:

  • JUNIORS - have practice Saturday at 2:00 pm at Veterans' Field - helmets and practice jerseys only (not full pads)
  • ALL DIVISIONS - Pep Rally Saturday night (September 12th) - begins at 7:00 pm - players should be there no later than 6:30 pm and wear their BLUE jerseys...
  • IN CASE OF RAIN - Pep Rally moves to gym at Saddle Brook High School - same time as above
  • Sunday is OPENING DAY for PW, Junior & Senior Squads...

We are AWAY at Wood-Ridge High School...directions can be found under FIELD DIRECTIONS tab on left...all 3 squads - BLUE JERSEYS...

  • Pee Wees - Arrive at field at 11:00 am (12:00 start time)
  • Juniors - Arrive at field at 12:00 pm (immediately follows Pee Wee game)

The Pep Rally to kick off the 2009 season for ALL TEAMS will be held on Saturday, September 12th at 7:00 pm - VETERANS' FIELD (in case of rain, location will switch to Saddle Brook High School gym)...please come out and support the kids (football players and cheerleaders) as we head into an exciting season!

There are currently three scrimmages scheduled over the next two weeks.  Please note that these are subject to change, and that more may be added.  All players are to wear PRACTICE JERSEYS ONLY to scrimmages - NOT game jerseys...

This scrimmage is a "real-game situation" scrimmage with officials.  Times are as follows:

  • Pee Wee: Arrive 5:30 pm for 6:30 pm game start
  • Junior:  Arrive 6:30 pm for 7:30 game start
  • Senior: Arrive 7:30 pm for 8:30 game start

1st ANNUAL ULTIMATE FOOTBALL CHALLENGE FUN FOR ALL!

The 1st Annual Ultimate Football Challenge was held last Saturday, August 15th at Veterans Field - it was a HOT day, but the kids had a blast.  Sixty kids competed in five events - awards were given in individual events and also for overall total points.  Congratulations to the following highest-scoring competitors (by age group):
