LOOKING TO PLAY 16U OR 18U TRAVEL BASEBALL?
Come play for one of our DUKES travel baseball teams.
Please note the following open sessions. Come to one, come to all. We'll be practicing, and we'll be there to answer your questions.
Even if you are playing HS ball this spring, you may find that you can play travel ball too, because travel schedules are usually geared to start as the HS season is ending, so you'll have no conflicts. And you'll keep your playing time going after the HS season is over.
Please talk to Coach Carlyle Leach at any of these sessions:
Sunday, 2/19 3 pm - 6 pm Boys and Girls High School gym 16U and 18U
Tuesday, 2/21 11 am - noon Metropolitan Batting Cages 16U and 18U
Wednesday, 2/22 11 am - noon Third Avenue Sports 16U only
Friday, 2/24 11 am - noon Third Avenue Sports 18U only

SPRING 2012
The Spring 2012 season will start on Saturday, April 14, and run through mid-June. Registration is now open! Go to the "Handouts" menu at left to download a registration form.
We offer opportunities for boys and girls at all levels of experience.
INSTRUCTIONAL: Designed for kids ages 4-5 years old who are just starting out in the game, we meet once each week for an in-house instructional session that introduces these young players to the fundamentals of the game: throwing, batting, catching, fielding, and running. Parents are highly involved in our very successful program. This program is offered both in the Spring (April-June) and in the Fall (September-October).
SPRING: Saturdays, 9:00-10:30 am, at DiMattina Field. Starts April 7.
PONY CLINIC: The aim of the Clinic held each Sunday afternoon is to bring kids ages 7-8 years old to a higher level of play. Participants include newer players who cannot play on Saturdays or cannot commit to a team in the spring because of other activities, and also players who are already on teams (either on our own Cardinals teams or on teams from other organizations) but who are looking for extra practice and to learn new skills. We teach the players more sophisticated skills such as bunting, double plays, outfield relays, and so on, which are usually taught to older kids.
SPRING: Sundays, 5:00-6:30 pm, at DiMattina Field. Starts April 15.
BASEBALL: Our Cardinals teams for players ages 5-17 play during the Spring season in Prospect Park. (The SBBL is a proud member of the Prospect Park Baseball Association, which runs the league in the park.) Teams for ages 5-8 play a game each Saturday. Older teams usually play one game each weekend and also play some midweek games. Our teams have won many championships, but all our teams are open to everyone. We do not have tryouts. All players who sign up get to play! Our teams have a winning tradition because our coaches and families are 100% committed to making the baseball season as much fun as possible for the kids, and we believe that when the kids are having fun, they play better together, and that the resulting teamwork leads to success.
For players ages 9-17 looking for a higher level of play, we also sponsor travel teams that play in leagues such as New York Travel Baseball, Brooklyn Baseball League, and the Parade Grounds League. Ask us for details.
SOFTBALL: The Cardinals softball program has a long history of success for girls ages 9-17, with one or another of our teams reaching the championship game of their division in almost every year since 2005! As in our baseball program, the secret to our success is to make our teams as much fun as possible. We encourage girls of all skill levels, and strongly invite new players to come join us. So don't be shy! We teach the newer girls all they need to know in an environment that is very supportive. And for players with more experience, especially in the older divisions, our teams are like second families to our girls.
