Welcome to the 2010 SALA Season

For our returning players... Welcome Back!  For our new additions...Welcome!!   ...to another exciting season of youth lacrosse in South Austin.  Our game schedule has yet to be determined, but the official season will begin in mid-March.  However, we have MUCH going on between now and then.  We have tournaments planned, a New Season Kick-off Party and lots of other acitivities that you won't want to miss.  Whether you're a returning player, a new player or someone who's looking at lacrosse for the first time, come join us at practice and start getting warmed up for the new season.  Check back to the site often to see what's new on the calendar!

Now's your chance to become a LAX Referee!

Registration is now open for youth referee training for the 2010 season.
Last year, we had several dads go through this training and it was helpful to have them on the sidelines to fill in when we were short a referee for a game (this happens occasionally when the weather wreaks havoc on the district's schedule and games have to be made up)...and it was handy to have someone in the crowd who understands the plays being called by the refs in the game!  If you're interested (my husband will be attending) register by going to www.ctyla.org for the registration and payment links. The charge is only $30 per person and registration is limited to the first 70 registrants. The minimum age is 14 (must have turned 14 by January 1, 2010.)  Below are additional details.

The Referee Training and Certification Clinic will be held at St. Andrew's Lower School (34th and Bailey) in a class room upstairs from the gym.

Session 1 will be repeated; you'll only attend one unless you really want to attend it twice.

Session 1 - Friday, Feb 5, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Session 1 - Sunday, Feb 7, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Session 2 - Sunday, Feb 7, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Lunch will be provided for those who attend BOTH of their sessions on Sunday.
