SAC SUMMER SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION

Summer season fees will be $100 for the first swimmer in your family, $90 for the second and $80 for the third swimmer.  In the past we have had swimmers register late in the season which causes us to pay more to the swim league. In order to save those additional fees, please sign up by May 11 with at least 50% of your payment.  If swimmers sign up after May 11 the fee will increase $25 per swimmer.  Registration dates are April 23-26, 30, May 1-3, 7-10 from 5:30-7:15pm.

2012 MINI CHAMPS INFORMATION

The 2012 9 & Under Mini Championships meet will be held on Sunday, March 4 at Northern High School with warm-ups beginning at 12:30, a 1:40 meet start, and anticipated 5:30pm finish time.

This is a wonderful meet that provides our 9 & under swimmers an additional opportunity to compete in a championship meet.  We've had some great success in the past, with numerous time drops, medal and high point winners, and of course the fun in spending time with teammates and friends.  Events are designed so that swimmers compete against other swimmers of the same age (5yr olds, 6 yr olds, etc.) which will be very beneficial for our kids!

We have a large number of 9 & under swimmers on our team, and are hopeful to have everyone participate so that we can take a shot at claiming the Mini Championship for Shippensburg!

Swimmers may enter a maximum of four (4) individual events and two (2) relay events.  The more swimmers we have, the more relays we can run!  All swimmers will receive a commemorative Mini Champs T-Shirt!!!

After the meet, we'll head Flapjack's Restaurant (for those interested) for a team dinner to cap a wonderful season for our Mini Champs swimmers.  Coach Jeff works here and can recommend a number of tasty items. The menu may be found here:

To Enter: Email Coach Jeff at jk2979@yahoo.com with your swimmer's name, event numbers, and event names.  Please also indicate if you wish to swim in relays.  If you'd like to join us for a post-meet dinner, please include how many in your family will be attending.

We're looking forward to an outstanding Championship meet for our 9 & unders!!! Enter today!!!
The entry deadline is Friday, February 24.

SHIP CLINCHES UNBEATEN SEASON AND DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

SHIP MOVES TO 3-0; DEFEATS BIG SPRING 549-450

Congratulations to all swimmers and thank you to our family volunteers for a wonderful team effort in Saturday's 549-450 victory over rival Big Spring.  The win kept Ship's record unblemished at 3-0, and we will be swimming against Gettysburg on February 18 with the chance to cap off an undefeated season and clinch the division championship.

How well did we swim?  Ship swimmers teamed to post 152 new personal best times.  This averaged just over two personal best times per swimmer at the meet!  This is an outstanding number of great swims.  We also had a number of swimmers who were battling illness, but still gave it their all to help the team be successful.  A number of those swims, despite being under the weather, added to our personal best total.  These contributions had a significant impact on our team score and we are very impressed by every member of the team's effort, commitment, and achievement so far this season.  Let's keep it up!!!
