Volunteers Needed
CAN YOU HELP ? We have a couple great opportunities to help support the Team. Please let me know if you can help with one of these events.
1. CONCESSIONS AT APRIL 12 MEET - We plan to sell concessions at the April 12 Woodbury Invitational meet! Would be in the new, cool, convenient WAA building at the Track. We need a minimum of 3 adult volunteers, and someone to take the lead on coordination.
2. A POTLUCK?
We're looking for someone to figure out logistics and coordinate a possible parent/player/coaches potluck on May 12 for the Woodbury Open meet, maybe out at Ojibway park, next to the track. This would be a great way to get to enjoy visiting with other parents and see the athletes close up and standing still!

Immediately following the last event (about 6:30) of the Woodbury Open Varsity/JV Meet At Ojibway Park (right behind the Track)
Welcome Athletes, Parents, Siblings, Coaches, Fans! Come have some pizza, veggies, beverage, cookies. Celebrate the efforts of our athletes. Enjoy camaraderie while you get a quick bite, and get to know one another a little better.
Donation of $2 per person toward Booster Club expenses.
On Mon/Tues May 9 & 10, let your Captains know about how many are planning to attend.
(Note: If inclement weather, the pizza event will take place in the WAA building at the track.)

Fundraiser at Kowalski's Aug 14 - Great Job ! ! !
Congratulations to the WHS Girls Track & Field club for the successful
fund-raiser at Kowalsi's last weekend --- The team earned $570!
Thanks to Kowalski's for sponsoring the team for $250, then the rest was tips! That was particularly great considering the small, but energetic and committed contingent of volunteers. Special thanks to Ron Evans and Sue Ridenour for over-seeing the activity. We'll try to get photos out on the website fairly soon. Enjoy the last days of summer.

Katie Tacheny - 2004 Athena Award Winner from WHS
Congratulations to Katie Tacheny or her selection as the WHS winner of the 2004 Athena Award. This award honors female athletes for their dedication and excellence in sports. Not only is Katie a fantastic basketball guard, she is fast, and can chow hotdogs with the best of them! Good luck at UM Duluth next year, Katie.

Cub Fund-raiser Success!
A quick e-mail to update you on the wonderful success the WHS Women's Track & Field Team had with their shift of the Cub fund-raiser this weekend! They earned approximately $455 in tips plus an estimated $180 in hourly wages for a TOTAL of $635!
A big THANK YOU to Laura Murphy and Sandy Jorgensen for getting a full contingent of hard-working and enthusiastic volunteers for the 3-hour shift, Kaycee Moore for making posters, and to Deb Hatheway for overseeing the volunteers (and doing a lot of bagging herself)!
Below are the volunteers. We only needed 10 for this event since it was just a "leftover piece" of the Girls' Soccer Team's fund-raiser Saturday and Sunday. There will undoubtedly be more opportunites to help with fund-raising later for others!

Feb 7 Success @ Kowalski's Fund-raiser
FUND-RAISER SUCCESS!
The WHS Women's Track & Field fund-raiser at Kowalski's last Saturday was a BIG SUCCESS, thanks to the good work of the athletes and parent volunteers below! $449 in tips was earned for the Team, and we are expecting Kowalski's will be donating $250 additional. GREAT!
