* Athletes must compete only in their own age group! Girls do not compete against boys when scoring but some long distances will run boys and girls together to save time at a meet.

* Sub-Bantam is not a recognized National age group. In our Pacific Association we have a Sub-Bantam age group but in all National meets Sub-Bantams must compete as Bantams.

Number of events per meet:  Sub-Bantam, Bantam & Midget can only compete in 3 events per meet. Youth, Intermediate & Young Women/Men can compete in 4 events per meet.

* Blocks: Intermedate and Young Women/Men must use blocks for all sprint events (100M - 400M plus relays). For all other age groups, blocks are optional. RETC chooses to teach the 3-point starting position for our Sub-Bantam, Bantam & Midget sprinters and will begin training in the use of blocks when sprinters compete in the Youth and older age groups.
