Home of the Ashland Grizzlies.
Ashland High School, located near the Southern Oregon University campus, is a comprehensive four-year high school of approximately
1175 students with 70 teaching faculty. It is accredited by the Northwest Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges and is a member of
the AAAA Southern Oregon Conference.
Ashland follows a semester academic calendar with classes meeting every other day for ninety-five minutes each.
Each course has a value of 1 credit, with a total of 50 credits required to graduate.
The City of Ashland, with a population of approximately 20,000, is the home of Southern Oregon University, Oregon's largest regional college.
Education and tourism, along with recreation, technology, and light manufacturing make up Ashland's economic base.
The Ashland-based Oregon Shakespeare Festival attracts 200,000 viewers each season.

Autzen Stadium

Autzen Stadium is home to the University of Oregon football team (located north of the UO campus).
Built in 1966, Autzen Stadium was named for Tom Autzen, Portland philanthropist who contributed $250,000 to the original construction.
The first football game was played at the University of Oregon in March 1894.
UO defeated Albany College (now Lewis and Clark College) by a score of 44-2.
A vision and a commitment. The two have combined to put the University of Oregon on the "facilities map" in the world of intercollegiate
athletics. The administration's vision in the mid-90's to reinvest in the future of the athletic department was coupled by the commitment
from donors who stepped up to the plate to help fund over a $125 million dollars in renovations.
The Len Casanova Center houses the Hall of Champions, a state-of-the-art weight room and offices to all coaches and staff that run the
day-to-day operations of the athletic department. Autzen Stadium, home to the winningest football program ten years running in the Pac-10,
is loud an intimidating. McArthur Court, home to the men's and women's basketball, wrestling and volleyball squads, is equally as intimidating
and filled with character. Hayward Field is one of the most historic track venues in the nation.
Factor in Pape Field, a five-year old facility that hosts soccer and soon lacrosse matches, Howe Field, which boasts one of the most scenic
views in the Pac-10, and the Moshofsky Center, the first-of-it's-kind indoor practice facility in the Pacific Northwest, and few would disagree
that the University of Oregon Athletic Department boasts the finest facilities in the country.

Home of the Oregon State Beavers.
Reser Stadium opened in 1953 and has been the permanent home of the Oregon State University football program since.
The facility is also used on occasion for club and intramural sports, such as field hockey and soccer.
Reser Stadium's current capacity is 35,362. The playing surface consists of AstroTurf 12/2000, which was installed in 1999.
Additional lighting was also installed for the 1999 season.
Reser Stadium also possesses a JumboTron in the southeast corner.
The JumboTron features replays during the game, as well as produced OSU features, highlights from other games, and statistics. Scoreboards are located in both endzones.
The Stadium was originally named Parker Stadium, but was renamed in June of 1999 after a significant monetary donation by OSU graduates Al and Pat Reser.

Southern Oregon is one of over 400 colleges and universities that comprise the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Southern Oregon competes in the Cascade Conference in all sports except wrestling and football.
Originally formed in 1978 as a scheduling alliance for volleyball, the Cascade Conference has evolved into one of the NAIA's most formidable small college leagues. Due to the abolition of district format as a means of qualification for national championships in 1993, the conference now sanctions competition for men and women in basketball, baseball, cross country, soccer, softball, track and field, and volleyball.
Current conference members include Albertson College, Cascade College, Concordia University, Eastern Oregon, The Evergreen State College, Northwest College, Oregon Institute of Technology, Southern Oregon, Warner Pacific College and Western Baptist College.
The Raider wrestling team is a member on the newly-formed Northwest Wrestling Conference. The conference includes Central Washington, Pacific, Pacific Lutheran, Simon Fraser and Southern Oregon.
The Raider football program is in its fourth year of competing as an NAIA Independent.

ROGUE VALLEY POP WARNER INKS STADIUM DEALS

The Rogue Valley Pop Warner games, including the championship games will be played at Spiegelberg Stadium, and the winners will move on
and play at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. The move caps a joint fund-raising effort between Rogue Valley Pop Warner Commissioner Greg Reeser
and Willamette Valley Pop Warner Commissioner Fred Banks.
It will cost $6,000 to use Autzen Stadium for the Oregon state championships, says Reeser.

Stanford Stanford Stadium was originally built in 1921 at a cost of $573,470 and a capacity of 60,000.
It was completed in 132 days. In 1929, the top 25 rows were built.
In 1960, the press box was completed, and in 1973 the west tunnels were dug.
The most recent major renovations were completed in the summer of 1999.
The field, Louis W. Foster Family Field, is proudly named on behalf of the Foster family.
Louis W. Foster, founder of 21st Century Insurance Company, was a proud alumnus of Stanford, Class of 1935. (full history).
