Mighty Mites Division
Mighty Mites
Ages: 7-8 as of July 31st.
(Local age rule differs from National Pop Warner)
Weight 45-90 pounds*

An athlete may fit into more than one category. League directors will decide division level.

REQUIREMENTS:
-School grades satisfactory (70% or better)Full year report card required from previou full year.
-Doctor's OK for contact sports, Pop Warner Physical Form required release from Doctor.
-Full commitment to season schedule

COST: Up to $175 (varies by association)
PRACTICES & GAMES:
Practices will begin August 1. All games will be played on Saturdays and Sundays at fields in the Rogue Valley, starting August.

Rogue Valley Pop Warner

To:   All Associations, Referees, Coaches

Pop Warner governing rules are:   
High School Rules, modified by Pop Warner Rule Book and Local Rules.

LOCAL RULES:
Mighty Mites (7 & 8 Years old)



1. An 80 yard field, and junior size ball shall be used.

2. No slaughter rule goes into effect at 28 point differential. No further kickoffs, ball placed at 50 yard line, clock becomes running clock, etc. Mandatory 4-3 defense. All defensive backs must be 2-yards off line of scrimmage. Only front line may rush.

3. Quarters are 10 minutes long. Halftime is twelve minutes.

4. Offense shall have a maximum of 30 seconds from huddle formation to get off next play,
otherwise, a delay of game penalty shall be called.

5. Excessive penalizing for minor infractions should be avoided. For example, an inadvertent clip away from the play should not nullify a touchdown, rather the penalty should be imposed on the ensuing kickoff.

6. The point after touchdown is one point for either a run or a kick.                                   
7. All kicks must be announced and communicated to opposing team. There shall be no rush during the kick, however, the kicking team shall have a maximum of five seconds after the snap to achieve the kick. If the kick is not in the air after five seconds, the ball shall be whistled dead and a delay of game penalty shall be imposed. For punts, the defense must have five
players on the line of scrimmage, and may rush only after the ball is kicked.

8. All tie games shall remain as ties with no over-time play.

9. Coaches should emphasize learning the game in different positions, and that no standings are kept in the Mighty Mite division.

10. A maximum of four defensive linemen are allowed for any defensive play. (Mighty Mites only) These are the only players allowed to rush. There shall be no designed blitzes in Mighty Mites.

Junior Pee Wee Division
JUNIOR PEE WEE DIVISION

Ages: 9-10 as of July 31; 60-105 pounds*

An athlete may fit into more than one category. League director will determine division level.

REQUIREMENTS:
-School grades satisfactory. (70% or better)Most recent full year report card required.
-Doctor’s OK for contact sports. National Pop Warner Physical Release required by doctor.
-Full commitment to season schedule

COST: Up to $175 (varies by association)

Pee Wee Division
Pee Wee
Ages: 10-11 as of July 31st.
Weight: 75-125 pounds.

12 Year old in 6th grade (Birthday after April 31st) may play up to 125 pounds.

12 Year old born prior to April 31st may play if under 100 pounds and is first year Pop Warner player.

You may qualify for more than one division, the league director will decide where you play.

REQUIREMENTS:
-School grades satisfactory. (70% or better)Most recent full year report card required.
-Doctor's OK for contact sports. National Pop Warner Physical Release required by doctor.
-Full commitment to season schedule

COST: Up to $175 (varies by association)

Oregon Pop Warner State Championship @ Autzen Stadium in November.
