2nd annual Rockville Youth Baseball Appreciation Discount Day

On Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 from 11:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m., the Short Pump Town Center, Dick’s Sporting Goods store location will be hosting the 2nd annual Rockville Youth Baseball Appreciation Discount Day to assist families and players with preparing for the upcoming Baseball season.

Any Rockville Youth Baseball participant can click this link - http://app.dcsg.com/couponsheet/?s=91080 - to print out your Team Packet Baseball Coupon sheet, which is good for discounts off your baseball purchases (as listed on the coupon) all season long.

In addition, on March 3rd, you may combine your Team Packet Coupons with the Appreciation Day coupon (see Handouts) that will enable you to receive an additional 15% off your baseball purchase.  This is a great opportunity to get your cleats, bats, gloves, pants, batting gloves and other baseball/softball items that you may need for the season at a large discount of almost 25%.

Rockville Youth Baseball families should print off both of the coupon sheets and bring them to the Short Pump Town Center, Dick’s Sporting Goods store on Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m in order to take advantage of the full discount.  If you are unable to make it during those times, Dick’s Sporting Goods will still honor the discounts throughout the entire day.

Also, please make sure to stop by the Rockville Youth Baseball table to register to win gift certificates to Dick’s Sporting Goods.

We hope to see you there!

SCOREKEEPING 101

There will be a class on basic and intermediate scorekeeping for Rockville Baseball held at the Rockville Library on 2 separate nights (same class both nights, so you only need to attend one).  These classes will be held on Tuesday, March 19 and Thursday, March 21 at 6:30pm.  I will be teaching them and anticipate them running approximately 90 minutes.

You will learn the basics of baseball rules, and how to apply what's going on in the game into a basic scorebook.  You will also learn what RBL expects for the new Pitch Count rules.  Your grandfathers knew how to keep score when they went to ball games as kids, and now it's our turn to learn.

You just need to bring a pencil.  I will have page copies of our scorebooks so we can all practice in class.

Class is optional and FREE.  Look forward to seeing you there.
