2008 Riverton Wave Coaching Staff

Head coach - Mr. Jeff DeNick

Jeff has been the Head Coach of the Boys Swim and Dive Team at Shawnee High School since 2001. He has guided his team to the state playoffs for the past 7 years, and this year, his team made it to the State Team Finals - something that hasn’t been done at Shawnee in 9 years. To top it off, Coach DeNick was named Burlington County Times Coach of the Year 2007-08, the third time he has won this great honor.

Jeff also has many experiences working with younger children. Last summer, he was the Director of the 5-year-old swim program at Medford Lakes Colony Day Camp, teaching basic stroke mechanics to the young campers. Jeff was also in charge of the Upper Camp’s swim program, which included 140 campers in grades 5 – 8.  Jeff also has previous experience within the Tricounty Swim Association as a Head Coach of an “A” Division Team. Jeff is a tremendous asset to the Riverton Wave Swim Team. We are lucky to have him on our side.

Assistant Coach - Allison Vetter

Allison has a swim history that proves she is an amazing swimmer! She still holds the record for the 100 Fly for the Hurricanes Swim Team, and in her final year swimming with Pomona Swim Club, Allison’s performance was outstanding. At the Tricounty Swimming Championships in 2006, she came in first in the 50-meter butterfly and fourth in the 50-meter backstroke.  Her medley relay team won first place while her free relay team came in second. Currently, Allison attends college at the University of Tampa and of course, is swimming for their NCAA Division II Swim Team. As a swim instructor at a local camp last year, Allison applied her personal swimming experience to teach young children proper stroke mechanics.  Allison brings outstanding swimming abilities plus a contagious enthusiasm for swimming.
