Milan Soaks up Sun and Surf

The girls headed to Long Beach to compete in the 11th annual Long Beach Sun and Surf Tournament.

The first game against LAFC the girls got the short end of the stick and lost 1-0 in a match that was controlled by the Milan girls. One thing that came from this match was the girls had found a goalie. Ashley McQuestion making her first ever start in goalie had an excellent match that was later parlayed into an excellent tournament-The girls were pumped

Game 2 against Gunners the girls came out hungry against their nemisis, having not taken a match from Gunners in quite some time. The girls controlled the match, unfortunately they could not find the back of the net and tied the eventual tournament winners 0-0

Game 3 against America United Blue brought on a new day and a quest to score goals. This was accomplished by . Jessica White,Meghan Dean the girls took this match 3-2

Game 4 against NHB Black played on a horrible pitch great for the gophers, lousy for the girls. The girls were able to defeat NHB 4-2 with 3 goals coming from Meghan Dean and Michelle Malette finding the back of the net as well.

All in all not a bad weekend and the girls have all the confidence in Ashley to take care of business in Santa Barbara. Go Milan!

MAGIC- CHAMPIONS @ CELTIC CUP

Celtic Cup Champs 07

Magic travelled to San Bernardino March 24th and 25th and claimed top prize @ Celtic Cup. The route the girls took to get to the final included the following.
Game 1 defeating tournament host Celtic 2-0,RFC 6-1 and SC Blast 3-0 winning their pool and making them the #1 seed. On to the Semi's the girls played to a 2-2 draw against So Cal Real Black in regulation winning on PK's 5-4. Rolling into the final the girls matched up with a big and quick Arsenal team playing to a 0-0 draw in a shortened regulation match mutually agreed upon by both coaches. Once again on to PK's, the girls were tied after the 5th shooter 2-2. Aimee Page sent a well placed ball side pocket to give Magic a 3-2 lead. Arsenal's 6th shot was denied by goalkeeper Callie Willoughby to seal the Magic victory and Championship. THE GIRLS ALL PLAYED GREAT! and showed a tremendous amount of heart playing most matches with only 1 or no subs. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

MAGIC SUN & SURF POOL WINNERS & SEMI-FINALISTS
SCV Magic Riptide completed a successful weekend at the Sun & Surf Tournament in Long Beach. The girls finished pool play 2-0-1 with 21 points. The girls competed against Gold and Silver Elite teams. However, Riptide dropped the Semi-Final 0-3 to Simi Eclipse. Goals were scored by Meghan Dean, Alli Carivau, and Michelle Malette. Well done girls!

MAGIC MAKES STRONG RUN IN STATE CUP
The girls made a strong run in State Cup. They advanced out of pool play out scoring the oppossition 8-0. On to round of 16 where they finished off UFC 5-2, In the quarter finals they beat Alliance Black 4-0. In the semi final agaainst Corona United the score remained
1-1 after 80 minutes of regulation and 30 minutes of O.T we came up just short losing in PK's.
The girls controlled every match and ALL played outstanding!!
The coach's are very proud of the girls!!
