9/14 Game Recap

In their first road game, the Strikers defeated the Radnor Santos 5-2.  On an unseasonably warm and humid day in September, the boys showed a lot of heart as they battled the heat and a tenacious Radnor team to improve their record to 2-0.  The offense sparkled again as the boys cranked up the scoring machine behind goals from Billy Manning (2), Sean Donahue (1), Ocean Parkinson (1) and Colin Whalen (1).  The defense stepped up in support of the win, with a shutout in the second half.  The team will now prepare for a first place battle against West-Mont on Saturday (9/20), the winner securing sole possession of the division.  The team hopes to see everyone at the game as they feel their fans are the key to a Striker victory.

10/04 Game Recap

It was a tough day on the road for the Strikers as they lost their first game to Haverford, 5-2.  The team put up a good fight in the face a 3-0 deficit at the end of the first half to pull within a goal as the second half opened.   Goals were scored by Marco Evangelista and Billy Manning in a quiet day for the offense in the loss.  The team will regroup this week and use the lessons learned this tough Saturday afternoon to come back strong against their next opponent.  The fans were very supportive in the team’s first loss and the boys never gave up, gentlemen to the end.

10/18 Game Recap

The boys bounced back from a tough loss to Haverford by defeating M.O.T. 6-1 on a beautiful October Saturday. The offense led the charge with the team’s first “hat trick” as Sean Donahue scored 3 goals, Jonah Schiavo chipped in with 2 and Collin Whalen scored 1 in a runaway victory. The defense put in a stellar performance allowing only a dozen shots on net, controlling the tempo of the game and feeding the offense all game. The boys are still a point out of first but look forward to finishing strong and having an opportunity to defend their title. The boys would like to thank all the fans for their continued support each week as we make another run for glory.
