The 2009 Elite Camp will take place December 28th-30th at Tulane’s McWilliams Athletic Complex featuring the brand new Turchin Stadium, the Sofio Hitting Facility and two astroplay fields. This three day camp is intended for ages 12 to a senior in High School ( 11 year olds will have the chance to attend both the youth camp and Position Camp) . The morning session will stress the mechanics, mental approach and all fundamentals of hitting. Each camper will receive the same type of instruction that has made the Tulane Green Wave one of the top hitting clubs in the nation. Each hitter will have the opportunity to swing the bat numerous times under the supervision of the Tulane coaching staff. Each hitter will be individually videotaped and have a one-on-one session where his swing will be critiqued and evaluated by the Tulane staff. The afternoon session will stress the proper fundamentals in every facet of infield and outfield play. Each camper will feature the same instruction that helped the Green Wave finish in the top ten in fielding percentage over the past few years. Each fielder will be videotaped and then critiqued and evaluated by the Tulane coaching staff. The last day of camp will feature simulated games in which all campers will take the field at the brand new Turchin Stadium and showcase their abilities. Teams will be formed based on ability and age. Each individual will have the chance to showcase their ability in a live game situation. The three day camp will run Monday – Wednesday from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Pitcher/Catcher Camp

This one day camp will focus on teaching the proper pitching mechanics that will allow each camper to maximize his pitching ability. Every camper will be given the same instruction that has helped make Tulane one of the premier pitching teams in the country over the last several years. The catching position is one that does not get a lot of individual attention at a young age. 

This camp will provide the catchers a chance to develop their skills through individual drills that concentrate on all aspects of catching such as blocking, receiving, and throwing.

• REGISTRATION: All campers will register from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM on the first day of each camp session.
• BENEFITS: Wave home baseball game. Awards will be presented in each age group for best prospect.
• FACILITIES: Tulane’s McWilliams Athletic Complex featuring the brand new Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, the Sofio Hitting Facility, and two astroplay fields will be utilized during camp. The facilities allow for a full day of baseball in hot or cold, rain or shine.
• MEALS: Toulouse Gourmet Caterers will be on location if campers need to purchase lunch or snacks during camp
• MEDICAL CARE: A trainer will be present during each session to ensure camper safety
• REFUND:
• Refunds will be given if Rick Jones is notified in writing prior to the camp in which the camper is registered. Please note that a 50% refund will be issued if the request is not received within 30 days of the start of camp in which the camper is registered.
