The Richmond Twizzlers Synchronized Skating Teams are based out of the Richmond Figure Skating Club in Richmond, Virginia. The Twizzlers were founded in the summer of 2001 by current co-coach Stephanie Meier, and practice weekly at SkateNation Plus (SNP) off Broad Street in Short Pump VA, although some practices may be held at Richmond Ice Zone (RIZ) off Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield VA.
All skaters must meet the following requirements:
* Must be practicing skating and/or stroking weekly in a group or private environment.
* Must be testing and/or practicing Moves in the Field during the season.
* Must be an active member in good standing of all three organizations:
Richmond Figure Skating Club (RFSC)
United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA)
Ice Skating Institute (ISI)
* Must come to weekly practice sessions and attend scheduled competitions and events.
* Must have a great attitude and love of skating.
The 2006-2007 season officially begins July 31st. The Twizzlers will represent the RFSC in several ISI and USFSA competitions in the upcoming season.
