Rhinos

Guys, this year's Fantasy Football League is ready to go.

We've got 3 teams already and have spots for another 5 more.

I've set the draft date to the 7th of September @ 11:30am, the Sunday after the Seniors play the Ravens and the Juniors play Stingrays Eagle (yes I know that's after the start of the NFL season, I've set it to start in Round #2).

Drop me an email if you'd like to be involved: ple26707@bigpond.net.au

Wellington City WOLVES

****Sorry Preacher****

Well...we just could not chase down the Knights yesterday here in the sunny hot Wellington heat.
Knights 28 - Wolves 18.
It was a great game though and both teams delivered on the day.
Some awsome young talent surfaxcing on BOTH rosters saw the half time score at 0-0 and a second half to be long remembered here in the capital.
The Knights were ALWAYS the team that had to be beaten this year...J.K. and his men were outstanding the whole season and yesterday was NO EXEPTION.
We held our own all day with them...but...the were just too good on the day and deserved Ambassador Cup winners and Capital Bowl winners..."Big Ups" to the Knight City Knights for season 2007-2008.

Bridget and myself will be over in Brisbane in August and i WILL be catching at least 1...maybe 2 RHINO games.
I look forward to that for sure...standing on the sideline at a RHINO game is like putting on that favorite TEE SHIRT...."It just fells GOOOOOOOOOOOOD"
Drop us a line some time guys.....check out our site (Wolves).
Footy for eva.

Wellington Wolves

Hi guys.
Hope you are working towards another year of RHINO STAMPEDE football.
We at the WOLVES have made our way to the Big Show again this year.
We play our old rivals the KNIGHTS this Saturday 23-2-2008 at 4.oopm our time.....1.00pm your time in our grand final (CAPITAL BOWL).
This is a replay of last years game and we nned to improve to beat the Knights this year.
They are a tuff team to beat on any day...but with the title within their reach i feel sure J.K. and his men will be a HUGE hurdle for us to be the Champs this time.
Well...we shall see how it all goes this weekend.
We have the talent for sure....if we play well...anything can happen.
At least we know we can mix it with them as the two games this year were quite close tussels.
I hope FIA has fitted in well with the lads and i am sure you have made him feel very welcome in the old RED N BLACK.
Well......chat to you soon and maybe think of us WOLVES accross the ditch this Saturday eh.....
All the best for now.

WELLINGTON WOLVES

My loss is very definately RHINOS gain.

Boys, a very dear friend of mine has moved from Wellywood to Brizvegas and will be putting on the feared RHINO top for you in the up-coming season.
His name is FIA and he is one of the nicest and most respectected player in our league here.
Please be certain to make him welcome in his new HOME and keep him well and safe.
He is a hard worker and he will lead from the front.
He will certainly be at home with you boys.
I will be over in August to see you guys and it will be a great honour to see FIA wearing the hallowed uniform of the best team in AUSSIE.
Attached is a small sample of his respect here in Wellington.
RHINOS and WOLVES.
Gotta LOVE it.

PREACHER

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Fia Fuamoli
Toufia (Fia) Fuamoli FB/DT 5'11 110kg
Nickname: Preacher
NFL player comparison: Lorenzo Neal
Celebrity look-alike: Shaun Alexander

Fia is another longtime veteran of the Wolves, also having played for the Capital Patriots and the Hutt Valley Chargers. Fia is a team captain and leads the team in prayer before and after games. However his calm, gentle nature off the field is night and day compared to the intense, aggressive player you see on the field. Well known for his love of blocking and hard-nosed running, Fia is a rare player who prefers to see other players shine, knowing he helped that happen with his great blocks. He did just that last year, leading RBs Jose Rangitihi and TP Katene to great seasons.

He is widely respected around the league for his good nature as equally as for his great play, and is established as one one of the best FBs in the league, if not the best.

Fia has represented New Zealand on two occasions, the most recent being 2005, when he made the Iron Blacks team as a DT. During the 2nd quarter, the NZ coach moved him to FB due to the ineffectiveness of the rushing attack, and Fia ended up winning the game's Offensive MVP for the team, running very strongly.
Fia has two sons, Tre and Jyra, and he and his wife Betty are expecting another child come January 2008. Congratulations guys!
