MCSA Fall Classic Champions
MCSA
The U12 Girls Reston Strikers ’93 ended the season as they started. After the 2005 Labor Day FPYC Patriot Cup championship, they also took the 2005 MCSA Fall Classic tournament (Nov. 19 - 20). They competed in the U12 top (gold) division age group and once again, the Strikers went with a record of 3-0-1. Their outstanding defense and keeper did not allow any goals against them. Playing strong in the final championship game against their friendly rival, CYA Wildcats, Strikers prevailed in the final 1-0 in a most entertaining and well-played match by two teams of very talented 12 year old ladies. This weekend was the biggest challenge the Strikers have faced to date and they showed that they are truly worthy of the title CHAMPIONS. The quality of training and leadership from Coach Apostolos Georgiou brought these girls to the tournament as a finely honed unit of capable soccer players. The team has been three-time recipients of the WAGS sportsmanship Award for excellence in team conduct and fair play. A special congratulation goes out to the team, the coaches, parents and friends. We would also like to thank ExxonMobil for sponsoring our team.
