All entries must be made online at: www.athletic.net. See enclosed instructions. The close of entries is Sunday, April 21 at 12 midnight. |

| ENTRY LIMITS: |

Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls is allowed up to three (3) per event. |
| STARTING HEIGHTS: |

High Jump Boys is 5’6” and Girls is 4’6” |

|
Pole Vault Boys is 9’0” and girls is 7’0” |
| |
|
Pole Vault and High Jump may be lowered due to weather or entries mark. |
Here are the instructions on how to do that.Skip to “Entering Athletes into the High Desert Invitational” if you already have set up an Athletic.net account.
To Activate your Athletic.net account (only done the first time)
- In your browser type in: www.athletic.net
- Click on your State’s icon
- Click on your Section’s icon
- Select your school and open.
- Under Coaches, click on the “Sign Up Here” link.
- Enter your email address, verification phone number, and make up a password.
- Close athletic.net, open your email, click on the activation link, and your account is ready to add your team schedule.
To Access Athletic.net in the future
- Go to www.athletic.net
- Sign in using your email address and password (you may share your password with assistant coaches so that they can enter their athletes)
- Click on your State, Section, and select your school.
You Must Enter Your Team Schedule OR At Least The High Desert Invitational
- Click on “Edit Calendar” from the Coaches Tools list above.
- Type in date of meet (April 27, 2012), then hit next.
- Select “Nevada.”
- Select the “High Desert Invitational” from a list of meets that will appear on that date. Hit “Save”.
- If you are entering other meets that are not in the data base, you will need to type in the name of the meet, location, meet time, and select if you are hosting the meet or not. Hit “Save”.
- Repeat for additional meets if you are using athletic.net for other meets.
You Must Enter Your Team Roster
- Click “Enter Meet Results” from the above Coaches Tools.
- Select “Boys or Girls” from the above box.
- In the “Add a New Athlete” box below, type first and last name, and grade.
- Hit “Add”
- Repeat for other athletes.
Entering Athletes into The High Desert Invitational
- Select “Meet Registration” from the above Coaches Tools.
- Under “Manage Athlete Registration for a Meet”, select the “High Desert Invitatational”.
- Under “Boys Entered” select an event from the meet schedule that you want to enter.
- At this point, you have two options for entering athletes. Either enter athletes into an event, or select events for an athlete.
- Option 1: From your team roster, click on the pull down window next to the athlete and select “Varsity”.
- If you have used Athletic.net in the past, seed times/marks will be automatically assigned to the athlete. If you have not used Athletic.net, you will need to enter an “Override Seed” time/mark. (You must enter an Override Seed for relays.)
- Repeat for all athletes entered into that event.
- Hit “Update” before leaving each screen and moving on to the next event.
- Option 2: To select events for an athlete, click on an athlete’s name, then select the events they will compete in. Include seed marks as above.
- Repeat numbers 3 – 8 for the GIRLS.

| COACHES & ATHLETES: |
|
|
|
|

|
Coaches are to remain off the track and infield. Athletes are to stay off the track and infield until their event is called, at which time they will report to the clerk of the course at the north/west end of the stadium or directly to their field event. DO NOT REPORT TO THE STARTING LINE! |
|
| WARM-UP AREAS: |
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
Please DO Not warm up on the infield! Warm-up areas are located east of the discus area. |
|
| SPIKES: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
3/16 inch spikes or smaller are required for all events. Spikes are sold at the concession stand for $3.00 a set. |
|
| CLERK OF THE COURSE: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
All running event athletes must check in with the "check-in clerk" 30 minutes prior to check-in deadline. They should then report promptly to the clerk of the course at the FIRST call. At 3rd call, they will be escorted to the starting area. Field event athletes should report directly to their event upon first call. |
|
| 1 MINUTE RULE: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
The 1 minute rule for all field events will be strictly enforced. |
|
| WEIGH-INS: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
No weigh-ins will take place. No rubber discus may be used. |
|
| RESTROOMS: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
Open on the southwest side of the track by the finish line. |
|
| |
|
|
| TRAINER: |
Located at the finish line. The trainer is there for emergency cases. If you need an athlete taped you must bring your supplies to the trainer. |
| TEAM CAMPS: |
| |
All team tents, camps must be set up east of the shot put area. Please police your area and remind coaches and athletes no Frisbees, boom boxes, footballs, radios, or sunflower seeds. |
| CONCESSION STAND: |
| |
There will be a concession stand operating throughout the meet. |
| UNIFORMS: |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
Uniforms and shoes must conform to the rules as stated in the 2011 National Federation Track and Field rule book. |
| ENTRANCE: |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
Southwest ticket booth will be open. Admission is $6.00 adults, $4.00 students with ID’s and family discounts available. The NIAA pass will be the only pass accepted. |
| BUS DROP-OFF & PARKING: |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
All buses should enter in front of Reed High School. Buses that plan to park and stay should park in the east lot after dropping athletes off. No buses are allowed in the west lot until the meet is over. |
| WEATHER: |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
The meet will go on RAIN or SHINE. |
