New League Age Determination Date for Baseball Players Born Jan 1, 2006 and Later

Little League International has changed the cut-off date for determining Baseball League Age for all players born in 2006 and later.  The new cut-off is Dec 31, 2015, all baseball players born in 2006 will be League Age 9 for the 2015 baseball season.  Players born before Jan. 1, 2006 will have a Baseball League Age determined by the previous cut-off date of April 30, 2015.  Full text on the new League Age ruling can be located at Little League International's homepage (www.littleleague.org) under NEWS

   Residency rules for Little League

Little League International has amended its residency requirements to allow children to play in the local league whose boundaries where they attend school is located.

 

Spring 2015 - NEW registration cost for players registering before March 1st

T-Ball  (ages 4 and 5)  $55.00 / player

Baseball  (ages 6 to 16)  $90.00 / player

Softball (ages 8 to 12)  $90.00 / player

Family maximum of 3 or more players $225.00

Registration fees after March 1st will be increased $10.00 for all categories.

Residency eligibility  has been changed from the Red Hook town boundaries to the Red Hook school boundaries!

A player's Baseball Little League age is their age on Dec 31, 2015 for those born in 2006 or later.  For baseball players born before 2006 the Baseball League Age is the players age on April 30th, 2015 (ruling stated above).  Girls Softball Little League age is a player's age on Jan. 1, 2015 (softball starts at age 8).

Online registration is subject to a processing fee per registrant.  There are two walk-in registration dates, January 31 and February 7  9:00-2:00 at St Chris school on Benner Rd. First time registrants should bring/mail a copy of the players birth certificate and proof of residency (officail school document or copy of school tax bill).  The Little Leagues address is:   RHLL  PO Box 43,  Red Hook  NY 12571

Registration closes on March 22nd, players will be added as needed, on a first come first serve basis for each of the divisions.

Volunteers - We are always looking for volunteers to serve as coach or assisant coach for your child's team.  If interested, please ensure you check off the volunteer/coach box during online registration or notify the volunteers at the walk-in registraton sessions.  All volunteers are subject to a background check as per Little League International rules.

Division start times:  All the divisions in the league have staggered start times.  With limited fields available, we stagger the start times to alleviate some of the conflicts with the school teams.  The league starts with the oldest kids and works down to the youngest.  All divisions should be in play by the first two weeks of May.  See divisions below for status. 

 

Red Hook Little League Divisions

  

  • T-Ball   (ages 4-5)     Registration icludes shirt and hat.  We will be focusing on mini-boot camps to teach game fundamentals followed by games in the later half of the season.   
  • Minors Coach pitch  (ages 6-8)    Registration includes shirt and hat, players are responsible for providing gray uniform pants.  Coach Pitch will be  a combined Red Hook - Rhinebeck program for the 2015 season.
  • Minors Kid Pitch   (ages 8-10)    Registration includes shirt and hat.  Players are responsible for providing gray unifrom pants.  Kid-Pitch  will be a combined Red Hook - Rhinebeck program for the 2015 season
  • Majors  (ages 10-12)   - We will be playing some games with Rhinebeck's Major division this   year.  Rhinebeck games are played at Wager field, behind the Rhinebeck library.
  • Juniors  (ages 13- 14)   - The Juniors division is a combined Red Hook - Rhinebeck program.
  • Seniors  (ages 15-16)   - The Seniors division is a combined Red Hook- Rhinebeck program.
  • Girls Minor Softball  (ages 8 -10)  - Girls Minor Softball is a combined Red Hook - Rhinebeck program.
  • Girls Major Softball  (ages 10-12)  - Girls Major Softball is a combined Red Hook -Rhinebeck program.
