Smiling M Champs

The ReadyQuip Rampage ran wild in the third period.

The Timmins Minor Hockey Association team broke a 1-1 tie with four goals in the final frame to defeat Iroquois Falls' Rexall Coyotes 5-1 to capture the Mac's Smiling M hockey tournament title in the peewee 'A' division on Sunday.

Ryan Kujawinski scored the game's first goal in the first period for the Coyotes on a tidy deke of the goaltender, only to have the score evened before the end of the frame. Nicolas Malette notched the Rampage's first goal to make the score 1-1.

After a scoreless second period, the Rampage was unleashed in the third.

Jamie Schneider gave the Timmins team its first lead of the game with assists from Justin Morin and Aaron Kerr with 8:30 remaining.
