Ravenwood Baseball: About Ravenwood Coaches
Head Coach Chad KirbyContact: chadk@wcs.edu
Coach Kirby is very excited about the 2010 season. This will be his 3rd season as the Raptors head coach. Ravenwood will play a very competitive schedule this year, along with one of the toughest district’s in the state. They will also compete against several mid state powerhouses. Coach Kirby feels by playing this tough schedule it will prepare the Raptors to make a run at a district championship as well as State Championship possibilities. The team will be lead by 4 seniors and 13 juniors. The TEAM is working hard and dedicating themselves to meet their expectations.
In college, Coach Kirby pitched for Steve Peterson at Middle Tennessee State University, where they won 3 conference championships. After graduating college he was hired to be the pitching coach at Gordon College in Barnesville Georgia. In the summer of 98 and 99 he was an Assistant Coach for the Austin Minny Stars in the Northwoods Summer Collegiate League.
During Kirby’s high school days he played for TBCA’s Hall of Fame member Joe George where they won back to back State Championships in 1993 and 1994. In 1993 Kirby was the Tournament MVP and in 1994 he was named Tennessee’s Player of the Year.
