The Raptors 97 are part of the River City Raptors based in Decatur, Alabama. The Raptors are members of the Alabama Youth Soccer Association (AYSA), which is the state organization for the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA). Home games for the River City Raptors are played at either the Jack Allen Recreation Complex (JARC) or Pt. Mallard Soccer fields.
The Raptors 97 are girls that basically live and attend school in Decatur (one at Randolph), with a few from surrounding areas, such as Trinity (West Morgan), Priceville, and Vinemont!!
The Raptors 97 will move up to a Divison I U-13 Girls team for the Fall of 2009 competing in the AYSA Divison I State league and NASL, Some teams from the area include the North Alabama United Lady Freedom 97, HFC 97 Blue (formerly Samba Yellow), HFC 97 Maroon (formerly Blue and/or Guntersville and/or Kicks 97 Red), VFC (Valley) 97, and United 97. Some teams that should also be DI for the coming year include Auburn Thunder, BUSA teams, Gadsden, and Vestavia, with this list to be confirmed when posted by AYSA. For 2009-2010, the State Cup for this age group is in Decatur; however, the tournament is played in the Spring (vs the Fall). To play or not to play (the State Cup) will be a question addressed next Spring.

2009-2010 RAPTORS 97
The Raptors 97 will gofrom 8v8 competition to 11v11 this year. With the change, the team has seen some growth and would like to welcome new team members:

Dates/times/locations will be out in AUGUST. NOTE, changes in the schedule may happen at any time!! Go to the Calendar page and thumb through each month (click once on the arrow to the right of the word August), you can have a preview of the upcoming season. If you would like to look at a list of games, the list may be found at Schedules. Be sure that you select FULL Schedule of 2008 NASL to see the games (so far). Remember, you can always use the links (Calendar or Schedules) on the left to get to these locations.
From a travel standpoint, expect some travel to Auburn, Montgomery, Birmingham, and Huntsville for Division I games. Then, possible tournament locations: Huntsville, Memphis, anyone for the beach?, and some other TN location.
