Next game is Friday July 23rd vs Clinton, 8:00 at Randolph High School.
Please come support your Oilers in what should be an exciting game! Clinton is the defending league champ, and put an end to a promising 2009 season for the Oilers by eliminating Randolph in the semi-finals. Clinton also eliminated from the playoffs the year before. Any Oiler player who hasn't been looking forward to this game since being eliminated last year should probably be playing soccer instead. Clinton is again off to a great start in 2010, and is clearly one of "the teams to beat" for any EFL team with championship aspirations.

Game Recaps:
Game One: The Oilers got the season off to a good start with a 21-7 victory over the Brockton (Bay State) Bucaneers in the 50th Anniversary Kickoff Classic on June 26, 2010. The team got a stellar effort from its defense, particularly from Johnny Epps, Marcus Barrow, and Colby Gallagher. Big plays were made by skill position players Brooks Payne, Will Price, Dan Carrrol, Steve "WolfPack" Marinilli. The quarterback duo of James Merrick and Ryan Myers hung tough in the pocklet and made clutch throws.
Game Two: The Oilers fell to Charlestown 11-7 in a hard fought battle in Randolph. The smothering Oilers defense held the high octane Townies offense to 9 points (the Oilers offense gave up a safety for the final 2 points). Johnny Epps and Dan Carrol both had interceptions for the Oilers. The young Oilers offense had several promising drives but were unable to put the ball in the endzone. Oilers WR Will Price put on a phenomenal performance and was named player of the game. Will had a 95 yard TD return and another 42 yard kickoff return, a l5 yard punt return and 2 catches fo 54 yards. The Oilers don't accept "moral victories" but there was clearly plenty of positives that came from this game that the Oilers can build upon.
Game Three: The Oilers suffered a setback with a 27-13 loss to Quincy on Saturday in Quincy. The Oilers competed, and the final score is not indicative of the difference in talent levels between the two teams. The Oilers trailed 13-7 at half time, but continuously made minor mistakes and committed penalties that stalled promising drives. The defense played another strong game, but the offensive struggles frequently left the defense with poor field position. Quincy played a strong game and deserved the win, but the Oilers hope to meet up again with the Militia in the playoffs to get another chance to prove that the Oilers are better than they played on Saturday. The Oilers clearly need more players to be at practice every week and ON TIME so that the team can continue to work out the kinks and develop some consistency.
