The Rochester Youth Soccer Association U14 Boys came up just short in their quest to repeat as NH State Soccer Champions. They won a tough semi-final match against Hollis Brookline on Saturday night. The game was scoreless after regulation and overtime so it went to penalty kicks. Jake Richardson, Matt Baker, and Tom Butler all converted their kicks and Andrew Falanga made several big saves in goal to secure a 3 to 1 penalty kick win. On Sunday, RYSA lost to Londonderry 1 to 0 in the NH State Finals. Londonderry scored an early goal and hung on as RYSA attempted to score an equalizer. RYSA created a number of good scoring chances in the second half but could not find the back of the net. Strong defensive performances by Rick Creteau, Matt Baker, Matt Roy, and Reece Paquette helped hold Londonderry to one goal.
